- Due to insistent public demand, the world renowned dancing inmates of Cebu finally had their own version of Psy's Gangnam Style music video.
Despite the heavy rain yesterday afternoon, Sept. 29, at least a thousand inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) entertained guests with their ecstatic adoption of the Guinness World Record holder for the "Most Liked in RUclips." Credits to Mark Anthony Bautista for taking the video.
For those who are wandering why they all wearing the same converse shoes,it was donated by converse Philippines.
That’s what I’ve noticed their shoes are the same. Thanks
Wow thats awesome
To all haters out there. This is a rehabilitation activity for inmates. These inmates are in jail 24/7 so this will help them physically and mentally active and healthy. It also promotes discipline.
KIT CUBE right, discipline is important. no discipline no selfrespect and respect to other people. if you never learned to hold your temper down than you can not comunicate with respect with other people. Asians know how to handle it. Take a look at the US-Prisons. No discipline, brutalitiy against inmates and personal. You need a 24/7 program and this one is a great one.
I was thinking great workout teamwork and excellent achievements for the teams. I’ve seen various of their videos this is a great example for the world 👏👏👏
Wrong! They are jailed and face inhuman living conditions. They only did this because they were forced to.
Wrong!!
@@izer2024 Ur comments is too dumb. Supposed they were which I don't think they are. They should be thankful the jail management choose this kind of work instead of hard work labor. Dancing is good rehabilitation. Good for physical body mind spirit and soul. And it give them sense of pride and accomplishment. So in a way it benefits them.
Why all the hate.......This keeps the prisoners minds occupied on something positive for a change. It shows them how to work with others in a team. Think of all the horrible things they could have been getting up to if they weren't doing something as good as this. This prison warden deserves recognition for allowing this and for getting the prisoners involved in something like this that in my opinion can only have a great outcome. They're all actually really good dancers as well and they're all dancing in perfect sync with each other. Well done inmates! Other prisons around the world could learn a lot from something like this.
Sarah : I wish they would do this in California. Serious rehab problems there.
Yes this is awesome helps them be productive
Dancing as exercise/ daily routine and therapy should be introduced around the world. It is effective in keeping inmates positively occupied as well as radiating positive energy to the dreary, boring, numbing environment of incarceration
They should really introduce this in the US and Canada, worldwide for that matter..
It would be Violation of Privacy.
I concur!...literally bored during quarantine...this video put a smile on my face ☺
Amen
Treat them like people, give them goals and confidences, they'll take that into the world and won't be back

Privacy? you have exactly 0 right to privacy in prison. Many countries already force prisoners to work for free/practically free. Dancing is much better imo than forced labor
I really want to see them perform one day, this is so mesmerising. Humans can really accomplish incredible things if they use their capabilities in a good way.
You maybe cant see them in the future but you can see same things like this in the Philippines and i even was in one of them once in elementary school
I was here 2 times to watch them perform LIVE... it was a good experience... we even had our picture taken with them.... They are not as dangerous as what others think.. they like their FAME.
the guy at the front with the mohawk looks like he his having so much fun and enjoying it. lol
He was a Dancer before he went in jail. Now he's a lead dancer and choreographer.
i admire their dedication & commitment in continuing their dance show even w/ heavy rains...very much appreciated w/
their efforts...a good way of relieving their stressful life in prison...it shows unity & relaxation as they express themselves through dance...
music and dance is always good for the soul.....
Hats off to them for doing it in the rain! 💪👍
these are asian prisoners dancing in the pouring down rai., and they're still better than me.
+Swim Swam Sassy you're not in a prison, so you have access to the internet and all it entails, not getting beat up for your commissary, can walk to the local market and buy food for cheaper than the price in prison..and if it rains you can go indoors without getting patted down for contraband, you can take a shit and a shower without onlooker ready to pounce on you..damn, if they're better off, you're pretty fucked
+Fershizzal you definitely misunderstood, she was saying they're better dancers than her considering... So if anything she's actually acknowledging the fact that she has it better than them.
sorry, i was just unloading, thank you for correcting me kassandra
specifically from Cebu Philippines
I'd been to this place and seen them personally, I am proud of them. Everyone can visit and watch them personally you just need to go to Cebu..It's a tourist attraction..
This is a good thing. This way, those people will be able to focus on other things in life, insted of beating people and being on drugs.
Everywhere in the Philippines knows the word fun
Yes Filipino is a good dancer and singer
@@andreahathaway3730 ye and alot of them are full of energy everytime
i dont know why..but im crying saw them :'D
bcoz u can still see the good in them despite how others judge their bad doings. :-) great vision of u
Fights in this this prison: "that's it! I challenge you to a dance-off!”

Ummm I assumed you are an Inmate too?
Don't. Stay where you are. But if you still insist, alright.
WOW! This is an amazing piece of choreography! I can't even imagine how hard everyone worked to bring this together. Definitely impressive.
This wants me to go to the Phillipines and get arrested

Bob Ross Pretty easy to do just give them Saturdays off.
@@bobross8424
We have Dancing lesson FREE in schools in the Philippines too.
@@maayongaga729 i was mainly talking about korea and japan, but that sounds pretty interesting!
This is awesome! They are so in to this. Great activity for them!
I feel bad that they have to dance in the rain, but damn do they look good! Lots of energy there
@D L Bennett Oh totally, I visited family a lot in the PI as a kid, but I feel like the rain might even be worse there because it's so warm. Everything's all humid and sticky
is good to know that people who engaged in unlawful things now engaged in the choreography ... Congratulations to the organizers of this fabulous event
It's more fun in jail in the Philippines!😂😜
Good job guys!👍
Is it though?
Madame Corgi wtf

This is why i liked being a Filipino. Inspite of being incarcerated being given the chance they still find the true meaning of happiness and strive to do more rather than suffer loneliness and be miserable.
So true, I'm sure they've achieved a so great understanding of hapiness that they've learned to enjoy being raped in the showers rather than just having their anuses aching.
this is awesome..of a wife to a officer i think he would agree that doing this once in awhile with them all would be great teach them to be kind to each other, have fun, dance your heart out with of course consequences to anyone starting shit..i tried to dance to this song multiple times lol i think it'd be fun to have a group of people to do this song with!!
Super-Duper WOW. Love it, Love it, LOVE IT!
respect
brb committing crimes in philipines to be part of this :{D
I'm having goose bumps here

Gene Kelly
So damn good I almost wanna spend time in this prison to be a part of it.
:P
Let's commit murder then...
I have seen a docu of this prison. You really don't want to be there. The dancing is not voluntary either. You have to dance or be beaten.
Name of document please/
ang galing galing....natutuwa akong panuorin yan kase hindi ko akalain na ang gagaling nilang sumayaw....keep it up!!!
awesome!
Only in philippines
lol then a riot breaks out hahaha
F
WOW! awesome! i cried at the last part. parang flashmob lang. nakakatuwang makita na ganito sila. sandaling nakakalimutan na nasa kulungan sila. :)
what i wanna know is how do these guys do once they are released?
yo yo yo world. I say, everyone in the world needs to do this at the same time on new years day 2017. whose with me????
Aaaaaaand no one responded
@@les907lol, of course. People think this is great when prisoners are forced to do it, but when someone suggests we all should be required to do it, crickets. 😂
I remember watching the dancing inmates and seeing them all over the news nine years ago. Looking back at the events now and recollecting the memories that happened, all I could pinpoint was how entertained and amused everyone was at the unusualness of the dancing prisoners, and the Filipinos took a lot of pride of this new program. Therefore, even as I look into the details today, all the articles that involve the dancing inmates were celebrations of how much the public admired the program and the choreographer’s “art.” However, I believe that there is something that no one has brought attention to, which is the prison labor associated with the program. Due to the merchandising of the dancing inmates and their popularity across all section of the social media world, I argue that the prisoners turned into a brand and the program took the public’s response as means for commercialization. I think that although the program was successful in publicizing and making the dancing inmates popular, they failed in helping prisoners re-enter society because regardless of their big part in the program, they were not treated as performers but as products. By bringing up this issue, do you believe that the program truly helped the prisoners and the facility by decreasing the crime rate inside the rehabilitation? I would further this discussion by stating that although the main claim of the program was to reduce gang violence, there was no logistical evidence such as statistics that prove their claim except for mentioning that the prisoners are supposedly “happier.” Did the CPDRC use the title of the "dancing inmates" beyond just a dance program and more as a product label?
With your extended analysis and all that aside, even temporary moments of joy while incarcerated can’t be bought either.
great!~ AMOR

Proud
Of those criminals

You just got to love the Cebuanos. They really know how to make the best of a bad lot in life! Three cheers to you, kabayans!
I hope they had fun, cus that as bloody awesome
Just freaking amazing ♡
It is amazing to see that a few minutes of grace and joy, can erase the exterior of an inmate! The world needs love and dance!
I love this so much they should do this in all jails.!!!!!!!!!
grabe super like., habang pinapanood ko kinikalibutan ako..two thumns up para sa mga inmates..super galing...
They all look so happy. I think it's great that CPDRC are doing this, hopefully these prisoners will change their minds about committing crimes and perhaps do something more productive with their lives after these experiences.
I've got a feeling the guy dancing up the front right in the middle with women around him is the BIG BOSS .
they still danced even if it's raining. They're really good and it's a nice form of rehabilitation for them
Totally Awesome!!! Couldn't help but smile as i watched this.....
very nice
soo love it
Great! And the board of Cebu is also great.
This should be mandated, worldwide, for every citizen in every country. It's a wholesome activity. Cameras should be installed in every home, so our leaders can watch us and make sure no one misses out on the fun. 😉
Just when we thought how miserable it would be in the prison.. these inmates show the true spirit of a Filipino amidst any hardship in life and that everyone deserves a second chance. These inmates committed mistakes and found themselves in a desolate place only to find out a new haven they called CPDRC whose management is exceptional in rehabilitating these once lost souls.. More power to the CPDRC management and may the Almighty guides the inmates specially when they are set free.. PTB Pinoy!
great performance inmates!
what a great performance keep it up
I love it. And it's amazing that Philippine can do the dance. Have all inmates to participate in a programs that can do them good. There goes a big change and have good chances to live a better lifes....this can make their lives around. Not bad, it's amazing to see ''only'' the Philippine that can put up a show to entertains.....
This is the most epic version, by far!
Nice!!d makapuol tan.awn..good JOB inmates..bsan uwan padayon ghapon...

This is like a one time chance to get out of your cell and have fun..I like it..
You guys are GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That idea is actually brilliant!
I think prisons and jails are the most overlooked places for people to do service. I was able to go for a year and a half and teach sunday school 2 times a week to the womens jail. It was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done and can't wait to go back!
Nkakatuwa naman.., nkakaproud ang Dancing Inmates... Keep it up po and Godbless you all... i hope you continue what you're doing guy'z... :D
as i watch the video, i felt that they are not only prisoners but they inspire us to be happy because even if they are in jail still they can do such thing as like that.. well done :))
que capos estos chicos, que bien por favor.los felicito..desde Argentina.
Must share this. Cebu Dancing Inmates in the Philippines are awesome. :)
the best ever .dancing inmates cebu.

Danger of different prisoners:
Toxic
Drug dealer
Hit Man
Gangnam Gangsta
I'm not surprised they'd end up doing one! :)
Amazing! If only some people outside of prisons could learn their determination! I loved it!
