I've watched a few of your vlogs recently. They are very good thanks. - Subscribed. You seem to have a better latency with this card. Was that merely the way the world varies or the card do you think? (I've now got one of these on order - ta.)
It seemed to work better because of the newer technology and range of the WiFi, my Internet at the time of this video was with a provider that was terrible so needed better range and it did improve latency as well. I think it was the card itself since before I never got great speeds and did afterwards and it continues even now with a new provider. Hope you enjoy yours.
I must be the only one that has this issue LOL. I was unable to see the 6 gigahertz Network as an option. My router is an Asus rapture and the six gigahertz band is indeed turned on in both the router and the card. At least it shows it as Auto and the device manager on the card PC end is an option as well. I'm with the 2.4 and 5 gigahertz spans are available on Windows.
Hi I recently just bought this wifi card and I am not sure why I couldn’t detect it in the device manager. I also couldn’t see any other wifi connection after installing the card. It’s says that code 10
There are several methods that can help with this, 1. Update the network drivers, 2. Use the Network troubleshooter. 3. Reset network adapters. 4. Change the adapter settings. 5. Reinstall the network adapter. 6. Reset your adapter. 7. Update your router firmware. Hope this helps, you don't need to do them one just whichever one you think will work for you.
thanks for the cool vid !! i just wanna know, i'm pretty new to making pcs and stuff and about needing to install drivers, does it need a specific amount of gigabytes in a usb driver? and can i download the drivers from a mac? i'm going from a mac to pc 😅 also do you think it would work with windows 11? i heard windows 11 is coming out in october 5 this year
If your using it for Windows, once you install it into your PC Windows 10 will install the driver automatically, often there is no need to do it in most instances. The driver size will be very small so not to worry about that. I do think it will work with Windows 11 as they will likely be using already established drivers.
@@hello-uw7sh I don't know for sure as I haven't had an opportunity to try it yet but as it uses the same technology as Windows 11 will be it should work without issue.
Thank you so much for this wonderful video. I always found your videos very useful. I am really thinking of purchasing this wifi card but I have an old pc. Dell studio slim 540s desktop. Do you think this card is compatible? And does this work with linux? I am using xubuntu on my old PC. Please advice. Thanks.
Very good video thanks. I couldn't see where to connect that cable, but since I already have Bluetooth, no need to fret. Except please consider n00bz like me are not installing into your test system; we're installing into a fully enclosed computer chassis. So information on how to connect that bracket to the case in a tower would help. Perhaps refer to a different video for the final install. (For example the outside of my system has a hex head screw requiring a custom socket to remove the preinstalled bracket. I need to use an adjustable wrench, so I'm ticked off before even starting, but I hope this is atypical. Need to look elsewhere.)
Hi, thanks for your help. However I dont have an empty USB slot on my motherboard with the pin missing in the top left corner, I only have one with the pin missing in the bottom left corner. I have 2 of the correct slots needed but those are already used up. Idk by what. Afraid to pull them out. Is there anything I can do? I noticed there’s only wires going into 4 of the 9 pinholes on them so could you do something else. Thanks again, great tutorial.
The USB cable provides Bluetooth, so you could use it without the USB cable if you don't have a need for Bluetooth, or if you do then you can get a Internal USB Hub from NZXT.com that will give some more internal USB.
Thank you for the video! Im having trouble with connectivity, where if im playing a video game I will be disconnected from the wifi for about 15-30 seconds and the wifi symbol would be replaced with a globe. It reconnects after, but it seems pretty frustrating. This problem occurs every few hours or so, not sure what to do. I have the latest drivers installed
So that used to be an issue I had a while back, my provider kept dropping my WiFi I had to reset it 5 or more times a day, so it could be the provider equipment ie Router. Before going that route though start with checking that your WiFi is password protected and you don't have a virus. The last is unlikely but very possible. You could also try resetting your IP with IP Config you'll need to look up the process, it's quite simple and can help a lot of issue's.
Hey, I have this card and have had it for a long time and for some reason it performs much worse than just a generic $10 Walmart usb plugin. Do you think this is because something is wrong with my pcie adapter? Maybe I need to update the software or drivers? I’m not sure why it is so bad
Most likely reason would be a Driver issue, but it could be the PCIe adapter but that's a lot less likely. Its also possible its because of your ISP not providing a strong enough or stable enough connection.
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM I get better speeds and more range with a $10 tp link usb plugin. Maybe I have a faulty unit or something is wrong? How should I go along troubleshooting?
@@kiz__ Unplug the router and modem's power cords from the power outlet for 15 seconds, plug the power cords back in. Check that all cords and cables are secure at both ends. Wait a few minutes, until the lights on the modem and router are working right. If that doesn't help then check your devices manual or the manufacturer's website.
@@kiz__ Not an expert on Routers but some typical things to ensure are done are: Use WPA2 or WPA3 for better security. Disable WPS, uPnP, and NAT-PMP. Disable WAN Administrator Access. Also change your default WiFi Password and make Admin Password Different than the WiFi Password. Other then those things everything else is fairly automatic.
What card to you like better the TP-link AX3000 (TX3000E) or The Asus AX3000 PCE AX58BT and also do you like the ASUS AX 5400 or another Router, Any assistance in answering these questions would be greatly appreciated
The Asus AX3000 is a great Adapter for the system, and I really like the ASUS AX5400 WiFi 6 lots of features and looks great as well. The TP Link is nice as well there all good choices.
So what I can tell from the conclusion, it's also good when the router is somewhere else in the house? I'm planning to leave my desktop upstairs in my room and the router is downstairs. Normally I have about 1-2 stripes of wifi in my room with my laptop. Will it be better or just the same?
As long as it's just a normal floor and nothing that would block the signal between floors you should still get good signal, the speed/WiFi reception will depend on your Router and Internet Provider, but if it was good before you should get the same or better performance.
I’m upgrading to this card for my pc, currently using an older asus model. I’m curious why you dl the software to a usb stick. Can I download the new card’s driver package to my hard drive, then take out the old card - put in the new one, and then install the drivers?
My TP-Link PCI-E gets about 50 download speeds and 5 upload speeds. Yet my games and internet run so slow. Is there any wifi adapter that you would recommend that would help my PC run faster?
thanks for video.. I have a question for you. I have a modem that supports 2.4ghz and 5.ghz at my house. If i get the asus wifi card will i have any problem? Would it be a problem if the modem does not support wifi 6?
No this is backward compatible so it'll work with whatever WiFi you have to provide the best speed available. It'll access whatever signal your modem has be it the 2.4 or 5 ghz. Have a great day.
@@glenngalvez1574 Go to Asus's website and search their products to find this model, then click on support and there should be a place for drivers and you can download and install it to update the driver.
I'm sorry to comment on such an old video but is there any reason device manager might just not show it at all? I'm not sure if it would normally show with a good connection at the start or if it only normally would when it is functional. I'm also assuming that the wifi option in settings will appear once it is as well. Basically I've installed the driver, restarted a lot and it's just not doing anything and i need help
Once its been installed and connected it should have been recognized, maybe connecting the cable that's only for the Bluetooth really, that might trigger it to show up. Not sure otherwise.
Not if it's from the ISP that the connection is bad, I have issue's with mine and have to reset it sometimes 3 times a day and if it's working this works, if not it doesn't, so other then possibly WiFi Range, and taking advantage of the highest possible speed when available it won't improve the quality coming from the ISP...
I got an ASUS PCE-AX1800 (WIFI + BT) and I had to plug this in the PCI slot because my GPU blocked a PCIe port, however even tho WIFI is working, Bluetooth doesn't.
There is often a cable that goes from the adapter to a USB port on the MB, that is what gives it the Bluetooth. If you have it plugged in, then you might need a driver to be installed for the adapter.
@@_michko_ If you've done both of those then another option would be to get a Bluetooth USB Dongle as that will work to provide Bluetooth as well. I've used them often and they work great.
Do you know how strong the antenna's are? I currently have aftermarket antenna's for my built in network adapter, that came with the motherboard, that uses 6dBi gain antenna's and they're 6.5ft long, I was wondering what gain is on the Asus antenna's, but cant find the info on thier website. If they're slower I was thinking about using my current antenna's with this Asus network adapter card.
So I just got the gigabit from Comcast. Working perfectly with ethernet. Unfortunately the most I could get over Wi-Fi with my computer next to the router was around 650 down. I have the Asus AC88 and a beast of a router, but not AX router. I wonder if I get an AX router, and the AX3000 antenna, if I could get over 900 down. For what I see online it seems possible. It is just annoying to have to spend hundreds on new equipment....
It really depends on your provider how fast your Internet can get to, 650 down is really amazing, there'd really be no need to go beyond that unless your doing something that requires it, but if I had anywhere near 650 I'd be very happy...I honestly don't think it'd be worth it to buy the new equipment for a modest increase in performance...It seems like your doing just fine...
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM yeah but know how some humans are 😂 I just got the gigabyte speed and would be nice if I had those speeds wirelessly. But then again I could downgrade to the 600MB plan, save $10 a month and not have to buy anything at all.

@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM fiber optic, that sounds like a dream. I got the 1gb down, but only 40mb up hehe. Good thing that I don't need to upload anything.
No if your not in need of the Bluetooth you don't need the cable for it to work. Also you can buy very inexpensively a USB Dongle that will provide Bluetooth if that is a better solution as well.
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM Yah! I just figured it out after posting. CNVio is both chipset but CPU dependent and for mine 10th gen Intel on X99 but the old X99 even though it has M.2 Nvme onboard, I don't think it's working. Intel AX211. Otherwise, specs on this appear to be same as the AX210
I prefer MB's with WiFi, just one more thing I don't have to worry about, but there are advantages to both, not having WiFi means you can use an adapter and when technology changes pop it out and update to a new one then...I choose with WiFi knowing I can still put in an adapter later on if technology changes and still be gtg...so it boils down to preference...Have a great day...

It says it needs a PCIe 3.0 slot, so it'll work in the GPU Slots, but haven't tried to see if it'll work in 1x slots but if they are PCIe 3.0 which a lot of them are now a days it should.
Does it matter which USB connector you plug it into? I ask because when the cable is plugged into USB 3 on the motherboard, I get an "over current detected on motherboard" message and my PC powers down. if I unplug it, no error message, but only Wifi works.
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM I’ll check the type on my mobo. There were 2 of them and the card worked when I moved the cable to a different one. The bt drivers took a few installs to get working , but my bt devices are now all paired and working fine.
It comes with the Driver disc, but Windows will usually detect and install an updated driver for you. If you want to update the drivers then you can go online to do it.
Hey I have a quick question I was being dumb and tried to charge my vape with my pc and I touched black wire to red and my pc won’t cut on anymore so is it done for or is there anything I could do to fix it?
I'm not sure how you did this considering a vape is charged with USB, but my thought would be if you connected a wires to it you may have caused a short and therefore your MB is likely no longer useable...to fix it you'd need to locate where the shorted capacitor or transistor shorted and use a heat gun to remove it and need to replace it with a new chip soldered back on but that's not for the faint of heart and a more advanced skill...it's potentially possible but a slim chance to work...best of luck...
Hi i have a problem with bluetooth drivers, when i download them nothing going on.But sometimes bluetooth start working for 1-2 minutes, and i dont know why. Can u help me?
So with the USB Cable plugged in you should be able to get the Bluetooth working with the Windows Driver. I installed one today and it installed the driver for me. If yours isn't working you might try removing the drivers you have there now for the Bluetooth and reinstalling. You can also go to the Motherboard Manufacturer to see if there are any updates under support that are for Bluetooth that might help.
Ok, yeah I have finally gotten Fibre Optic and over what I had before it's incredible, but had terrible internet before. This let me take full advantage from what I had though.
Here is the link for Windows 11 to get the Driver: www.asus.com/ca-en/networking-iot-servers/adapters/all-series/pce-ax58bt/helpdesk_download/?model2Name=PCE-AX58BT
No I'd install the hardware and then see if Windows 10 installs the driver for it, it usually will and that'll save the need to install the drivers at all.
Why is it described on the packaging of this item that this hardware has bluetooth and also has bluetooth software in its application but device manager does not recognize bluetooth
You need to use the USB Cable to get the Bluetooth working, the software that comes with it isn't very good but Windows will install the driver for the Bluetooth. If you don't use the USB Cable the WiFi will still work but then there won't be any Bluetooth.
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM Thank you for answering my question. I installed the usb cable to the motherboard usb header, but the bluetooth is still disabled. It means that Bluetooth is not displayed on the device manager
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM To have Bluetooth, I put a Bluetooth dongle in the USB, but I'm wondering why the Bluetooth from this adapter doesn't work.
@@GR-ly1cu Are you using the USB from this adapter and the Bluetooth dongle at the same time, if so one of them is conflicting with the other. Try just the USB Cable from the Adapter to the USB on the MB, or just the Bluetooth Dongle and see what happens. Yeah the new GPU's take up a lot of space, I do have a 6700XT and it fits under it but not sure if it'd fit under the 3090 as it looks like its a bit bigger.
Check that you've attached the Antenna so it's got the range to detect the WiFi in your home, also maybe recheck the adapter is in the PCIe 3.0 slot like the one in the video, I don't think it will work in the PCIe 1.0 slot in case that was used, and you could also go to the Asus Website and download the driver from there in case there is a newer one and the old one for some reason is not working with the latest Windows updates...hope that helps...
Not sure, are you picking the right driver/software software, but Windows 10 should be able to install the driver for you as well so not certain otherwise.

Ok, you left out some very important info. You didn't say anything about turning off your original wifi which usually has to be done in the firmware. As far as increased speeds, you get that providing your talking to a wifi 6 device. If you have a wifi 5 device connected to your new wifi 6 adapter, it's going to connect at wifi 5 speeds.

You might need to check your WiFi settings, but as long as your seeing the 5 Gigahertz it's good.

Do you think this card is compatible? And does this work with linux? I am using xubuntu on my old PC. Please advice. Thanks.
It works with Linux, but with Windows it's Win 10 only though...

Nice video! You have any idea why this card shows as Intel AX 200 in Windows?
No not sure the AX part makes sense but the 200, not sure.

Yes you can download directly to the HD and use it from there.
My TP-Link PCI-E gets about 50 download speeds and 5 upload speeds. Yet my games and internet run so slow. Is there any wifi adapter that you would recommend that would help my PC run faster?

Once its been installed and connected it should have been recognized, maybe connecting the cable that's only for the Bluetooth really, that might trigger it to show up. Not sure otherwise.
Does buying a better wifi adapter have any effect on your connection quality if it’s already bad ?
Not if it's from the ISP that the connection is bad, I have issue's with mine and have to reset it sometimes 3 times a day and if it's working this works, if not it doesn't, so other then possibly WiFi Range, and taking advantage of the highest possible speed when available it won't improve the quality coming from the ISP...

There is often a cable that goes from the adapter to a USB port on the MB, that is what gives it the Bluetooth. If you have it plugged in, then you might need a driver to be installed for the adapter.
