I got pretty teary eyed during the video too. ;o) One of the best videos I have seen in awhile though.Emerald City Music is an awesome store if you happen to Seattle.
This what Guitar Safaris are suppose to be - killer guitars and a wonderful story (even if bittersweet). What a terrific story and awesome way to remember and honor your brother! A guitar should only be named if it has a great story. My uncle willed me his 1958 Fender Stratocaster in custom color yellow. I loved it since childhood. My uncle played it on a small town rural Midwestern radio show in the late 50’s and early 60’s. After his funeral (in 1992) we went back to my aunt’s house. After about an hour she brought out the case and said, “You’re Uncle Walter knew how much you love this old guitar and wanted you to have it.” It was a complete surprise. I play it almost every day. I’ve been offered a lot of money for it, but it’s going to my son. Of course I simply named it “Uncle Walter”.
Best RUclips content I've seen in years! Huge fan of your work and commitment to players. Please create more in this series. Going to buy some Emerald City swag right now.
Congratulations Mark. Every burst should be so lucky to be in a home where it is cherished and played. So sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing this.
What an amazing journey of emotion, music and family. The highest of highs, the lowest of lows - and all captured beautifully through cinematography and storytelling. Great job Emerald City Guitars, and congratulations on coming home Scotty Burst!
I’ve visited ECG since 2007 when I come to Seattle. Every time I have visited Jay and the entire staff have have been kind and welcoming even though there’s no way I could afford anything like this Burst in the video (or ever the guitars that go from “only” $10,000!). I hope the gentleman can take some comfort knowing that his brother’s memory will live on through this Les Paul masterpiece. Wonderful presentation. You folks are awesome.
Thank you so much for sharing this, like others here I'm a mess after watching that. I lost my brother many years ago, this guy deserves that guitar to help him remember. What a story.....thanks again
When I was in the Airforce, a Staff Sergeant I worked with had a 50's model Les Paul and he let me play it. WOW!!!! it was like driving a Cadillac. Very little effort making chords. It was like a comfortable pair of jeans.
Wow. I live in Tampa and while I don’t know Mark personally, I hope that someday I can share a drink with him, congratulate him on his purchase, and most of all, talk guitars, especially about the Scotty Burst. A fitting tribute to his brother and what a way to always remember him. 🙏🏻
@@bensepulveda71 Haaaaa, I've got an old Ric I take out of the case every once and a while to smell that Eastern hardrock Maple thing :-O maybe we can hang some day and talk guitars with a few cocktails !
Probably the best part about this is how supportive the wife was, “if you’re looking for my permission, you have it” Reminds me of my wife, if the moneys there she never discourages me.
This man seems to know how blessed he is. SO sorry that he lost his brother. Been there, done that in 1995. Old guitars are great. But there is nothing like your brother ...
What a great journey to get to tag along on! Well done, y'all! And I've gotta say it's been such a joy to have known Trevor since he was a little boy and see him blossom into the wonderful man that he is. Well done, Jay and Laurie!
Wow, what an incredible, emotional journey. You guys did an amazing job capturing the energy and tone through video. Absolutely incredible. Amazing job you guys!
Still to this day one of my favorite guitar videos on You Tube. I own a 1953 Les Paul Standard and have been lucky enough to play a few original bursts. Hopefully one day I'll own an original 59 as well. These videos always give me such motivation towards that goal!
I can't watch the whole video had to stop at the voice mail part, my condolences toward Mark, Mary, and their family. Trevor and the team did an amazing job on the whole thing too! This is an incredible journey, wish the Burst will stay with your family for generations to come.
Many times these guitars end up in the wrong hands. This beautiful 59 could not have gone to better home to someone who will play it and treasure it. That’s such an amazing top and Mark is a great guy.
First off so very sorry for Mark's loss and this video was very touching. We got to visit your store and all of you a couple years back upon our visit to Washington.Took many photos while we were there too We live about 40 minutes north of Mark and wow what a beautiful 59 Paul...Thank you for the very enjoyable video both very happy and sad!
So awesome to see the happiness and this iconic legend of a guitar 🎸 finding a home 🙏🏻😊
I'm a mess after watching that. This is it, right here.
I got pretty teary eyed during the video too. ;o) One of the best videos I have seen in awhile though.Emerald City Music is an awesome store if you happen to Seattle.
Great story! Glad to know this is in Tampa with a good home!
I’m not crying. You’re crying.
That’s a really great story and a nice guitar to go along with it.

Man I tested up a bit. When it started I thought, great another rich collector. But then hearing the story and knowing he’s a player. Right on man!
This is art. The guitar isnt bad either.
It really doesn't get much better than this. Thanks to all involved for sharing.
Wanna feel pain and joy all at the same time? Watch this movie. RIP, Scotty.
That's one helluva story. Guitars can be so much more than just guitars.
God bless Mark and his wife in this difficult moment....and let this beautiful LP be the right homage to his brother's memory....
Touching trip.once in a liftime.......

I heard Heartbreaker in my head and that's the first thing he played. That guitar is absolutely beautiful!!
Man, that cuts deep. Wish them both the best. That burst has found it's rightful home.
Congratulations Mark. Every burst should be so lucky to be in a home where it is cherished and played. So sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing this.

Wow, that was emotional! Talk about connecting a guitar to a player. That's why you do what you do Trevor. What a fantastic video.

From Lutz here... He must be down by the old Belleview-Biltmore. Maybe he'll let us come stare at it, if we ply him with a few drinks ! Lol
