Somehow I think it lost it's charm. Stalker had it's own way of gameplay. A unique way. Now it's like living on the old glory with a modern approach on the gameplay. Graphics are amazing without doubt, sound can be done just a little better (breaking a glass should sound like breaking a glass). Maybe the over hyping of the release killed the first impressions, maybe because it's got different way in comparison to the previous games. And russian voice overs are really missed here. They were the main characteristics of the original game. I hope GSC will move away from politics and do us all a favor and bring back the original stalker feel of the game. If it stays like this the wait was not worth it.
Hey sidorovich, I know your early into your play through but many fans of the series say that the first stalker game has a certain type of “feel” or “vibe” when they talk about the atmosphere, ambience, and other aspects of the game. I never played any of the stalker games so I wanted to know if you would say that stalker 2 feels like a true stalker game and captures what the first game did great?
Yes it does feel like a stalker game but its different. It's like cars from the 80s and 90s compared to modern cars or electrics, not everything that newer is always better even if it technically is. Stalker 2 is growing on me slowly, but I prefer older ones as well, at least for now.
Dont wait for it, just play it now. I dont think they gonna optimize it any better than what we have, unless they gonna start downgrading the graphics to bits. Its just ue5 itself, its a fat hog that doesnt even deliver the quality of the graphics given its horrendous requirements, this is not the only ue5 game that does that its a pattern with most of these

@SidorovichJr I'm having fun about 9 hours in. Hope they can fix performance and A-life but the mods are already coming out so I'm looking forward to those too

not at all, the game is quite expensive for us stalkers and quite heavy (graphical wise)
