I am Canadian of English Irish descent. My mother was French descent. I was diagnosed recently. My ferritin was over 900. Any dietary advice would be appreciated. I have lost 16 pounds by reducing portion and restricting Calcium C and red meats and drinking tea before meals. I eat eggs and dairy since it helps rid the body of iron.I am 70 years old. I am advising all of my family to be tested. This is the first i have heard about lung disease and HH.The fatigue is the main problem for me.

@@basilwilson2796 hi there..its a really nasty thing...It can cause liver probs too..drinking tea with a meal helps inhibit iron uptake and no more oranges either. You need to avoid shellfish as they can carry a bug that attaches to iron .Eggs help and avoiding red meat too.I eat mainly chicken and salmon. You need to be careful with food that is fortified with iron.Im Irish Scandinavian descent so I get it both ways All the best mate the kiwi kid
