  • Today we decided to try our luck at Blackpool.
Initially me and Nav went to the Gynn Wall. Andy and Steve called in to Ben at Fleetwood Fishing Supplies. Ben recommended trying Bispham. So after a 10 minute walk we all met up and started our adventure.
The majority of us used 2 hook flappers so that we had a bait on the floor and one waving in the sea.
Steve led the way with a Plaice, Swiftly followed by a small flatty and two whting.
AND.... AND... AND for the first time this year I caught a fish!!!!! A 27cm Dover Sole (24cm legal limit). To say I was over the moon was an under statement.
Andy caught a shrimp (I'm not going to let this go any time soon as he is currently winning the highest number of fish caught this season).
Nav caught five muscles at Fleetwood. That's some serious skill.
We fished from roughly 11:30 through to 15:00 at Bispham, high tide was at 12:07. By 13:30 most of the action had come to a stop. We decided to move to Fleetwood. We called in to speak to Ben at Fleetwood Fishing Supplies to ask for advice on how we could approach the estuary.
It had been a long few days for myself so I decided I would lure fishing on the off chance a Bass or Trout was in the area. This wasn't recommended as the water was murky and a bit early in the season. We were also warned that the crabs in the area were ferocious and that we would need more bait elastic than bait. This was true, baits lasted less than five minutes at best.
It was a nice end to the day taking it easy on a clean beach with my mates having a laugh.
    Cheers Gents!

Our aim as a group is to get some kind of sponsor so that we can promote sea fishing. Being from in land I had very little support towards sea fishing when I first started. And life does get busy, so, maybe it’ll be a bit easier if there’s someone that’s willing to help, lend you a rod and reel, bait up your hook or just take the pressure off in general.
