  • Before the Last Supper or the Crucifixion of Jesus, Mary anointed Jesus at Bethany. When she did this, she did something strange; she wiped Jesus’ feet with her hair. This seems like such an odd action, which obviously begs the question of why. Join ArieRashelle as she searches through Scripture to understand the purpose of Mary’s actions in her video, Why Did Mary Wipe Jesus’ Feet With Her Hair?

thank you for this perspective....... I guess we can't know for sure, but it could have been an act of repentence along with an act of worship. I love how you brought out that she used her glory on the feet of Jesus. It was a humbling act for sure.

I don't think Martha has greater faith than Mary. Because we can see Martha's unfaithfulness in Jon chapter 11 verse 24 and 39. If she believed in the lord, she wouldn't had said that he stinketh for he has been dead for four days. And also Jesus replied to her "Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
If Martha had faith why would Jesus said that?

Can you imagine if jesus didn't say the name Lazarus but just said come out? Every dead person would have risen from their graves. Now onto your claims about Mary.. i can see you believe what you're saying. But there's just too many assumptions.
And you miss the bigger point of she anointed him preburial . Stay on the narrow path. Eyes on Christ. Well done .

Good try but swing and a miss. Mary's story was told in all 4 gospels. She is the only one who used her hair to wash Jesus' feet. Mary did not blame Jesus as much as Martha did. Mary's faith was far beyond the faith of the Martha, Lazarus and even the disciples. She used her hair because it is non absorbent. She knew like no one else Jesus was coming out of that grave. And she wanted to keep it on Him. Her perfume and its container suggested she, not only was a prostitute, but was the lead prostitute...a madam. It told everyone at that banquet that all the charges lodged against her in John 8 in the temple court yard were really true. No one and I mean NO ONE had her kind of faith, that is why Jesus memorialized her.
