    For the masala paste:
    2-3 green chilies
    handful coriander leaves
    ½ inch piece ginger
    5-6 garlic cloves
    ½ inch ball of tamarind
    Blend the above ingredients first without water and then add just a little water to make a thick paste. Keep aside.
    For the fish marination:
    4-5 kingfish steaks or any other fish you prefer (cleaned, washed, and pat dried)
    1 tsp turmeric
    2 tbsp red chili powder (adjust as per how spicy you like)
    Salt as per your taste
    Prepared masala paste
    Marinate the fish pieces with the dry spices first and make sure each piece gets coated evenly on both sides.
    Then apply the masala paste and make sure each piece gets evenly coated on both sides.
    Keep aside to marinate for 15 minutes.
    For the frying:
    1 cup fine semolina/suji/rava
    Oil for frying
    Coat the marinated fish pieces with the semolina evenly on both sides and shallow fry the fish in medium hot oil until golden.
    Fry one side completely before turning the fish to the other side.
    Fry until golden and crispy.
