We see Luffy punching the celestial dragon because his friend was shot. But the world sees it as Luffy punching a celestial dragon to save a fishman. I never thought that, but it makes the moment even better.

I loved the intro 😂 thata right! We need a therapist after these chapters! I don't remember ugly crying this much since Ace and ASL flashbacks. Goddamn but what an amazing chapter!!!
Hey Amber Merry Christmas. But man this was hilarious. But man this chapter was insane. I love the that we got some more stories of the Bonney Pirates adventure. I like the pov of Kuma in some of One Piece iconic moments like Luffy first bounty, The Strawhats defeating the CP9 and declaring war, Thriller Bark, the news of Ace execution, Luffy punching a Celestrial Dragon and seeing his facial reaction to when he was separating the Strawhats and his last mission of protecting the Strawhats ship until they came back. I felt bad for Kuma during the times he had seen Bonney he must avoid her. Which is sad. This chapter was so heartbreaking seeing Kuma final moments before he loses his memories/ego. Seeing this makes you hate the World Government and Saturn even more. And the last part with Kuma telling Dr. Vegapunk if he see Bonney to tell her "Happy 10th Birthday". Man Oda did it again with a sad but great chapter. I wasn't surprise that this chapter got to you. But i hope you have a lovely day. one thing to remember about dragon is that during impel down when ivankov finds out dragon is luffys dad ivankov flashes back to a moment where it's stated dragon is always looking east and whenever anyone asked he told them to mind their own business. i think with the whole "a child is a parents weakness" thing i totally understand dragon. He's the son of garp but if you remember him being related to garp wasnt widely known. maybe like 4 people within the military knew that, so the way i see it everything dragon did was for luffy. he saw the horrors of the navy and wg and decided to distance himself from it all and then tear it down. I think it's definitely gotta be tough to have to give your child away because you want to be the change in the world that your child and everyone else can benefit from. Also during post war dragon was no doubt there with luffy in mind. edit: i said "one thing" and then went on i'm sorry LOL
I can understand having mixed feelings for Vegapunk, but as someone who always related to his point of view on the subject seeing him absolutely broken when he pulled the switch added to the devastation I felt and certainly made me sympathize with Vegapunk all the more. Perhaps it's due to his satellites but I admire him not giving into nihilism after seeing what Kuma has gone through and being forced to essentially kill him. I think it's wonderful that he is still leaning towards being too optimistic in the present day.

I have a massively unpopular opinion regarding this chapter: I think it was kinda rushed, and should have been split into two chapters instead. I don't have a problem with any of what we did get, it instead just feels like there was a whole lot missing, or at least stuff I wish was explored more thoroughly. The Thriller Bark segment especially, it only had a single thought bubble of new content.
Something someone else pointed out to me is during the running sequence, there's a moment when during his run we see Ginny's face and Kuma *almost* trips. And then we see Bonney's face, and Kuma's chest swells and he continues running along the path. A small little way to capture how important Bonney was to Kuma to keep him "going". So sweet.

One of the best flashbacks in the story, Saint Kuma is going to ascend to heaven but not before seeing Nika smack St Saturn around I hope. I quite support Dragon. Kuma had to leave to raise Bonney, but Dragon didnt have that luxury. He cant bring Luffy with him, he cant visit him or Luffy would be used as a bait, god knows what happened to his mother. Hell, even just relation with him puts Luffy at risk. The best thing he could do was to leave Luffy with Garp. I am starting to think that there is a reason that Garp raised Luffy in same place as Ace, kids of 2 most wanted people in OP
