I’ve listened/watched DP for years…this may be my favorite segment of all time! Fritzy is an absolute gem-he’s always been the “whipping boy,” yet still continues to be himself 100% of the time!
You know what… the singing is not too bad. Honestly. Not bad. Todd had the freaking balls and confidence TO GET ON A LIVE STAGE WITH A DARRIUS CONCERT. Good for him. Once in a lifetime experience for him.
More people are scared of singing in public than having a gun pointed at them. As someone who does not sing well but had to on-stage during some improv scenes that had musical games, the audience will forgive you if you fully commit. You committed -- no matter what anyone thinks of the actual singing, great job getting up there and attempting...
I don't know what was better, the actual event, or the discussion and follow up afterwards. I have seen Darius several times and he is AWESOME! This doesn't surprise me that he is cool enough to make this happen. Well done Fritzy!!
I feel it takes some guts just to sing at a karaoke bar. To sing in a venue where Darius Rucker sings 7 songs first and then says "here's guy I lost a bet to" is totally another level. Huge props to Todd for owning his moment on the big stage and bright lights!
As Dan mentioned, if Darius would have explained the 'BET' payoff more and gave a more complete setup, then Fritzy's performance would have been more accepted. With that said, can't give Todd enuff credit for getting up and basically doing Live Karaoke in front of thousands of ppl, Big Props!

On the show today (Monday) Dan stated that there was video on the DP website of Todd singing Friday night at the show, but I can't find anything there, or anything here (DP channel on RUclips)......anybody know where they've posted whatever concert videos of Todd's performance are available from Friday night's 'Darius/Hootie Show' ?? .
I think all you guys should lay off fritzy moving forward. At least he’s got the balls to get up there and try. Unlike you cowards that slag him down at every corner.

The cool thing is that Toddler knows he's not an accomplished singer, but loves to sing neverthless just well enough not to besmirch his favorite songs.
It worked b/c Darius is really cool and this isn't going to ruin the concert. Plus the typical person going to a Darius Rucker concert are pretty easy going. Don't try this at a rock concert or rap or anything like that. - He's got guys I've give him that. Again - Seems like Darius is so easy going he's not going to get all worked up about this. Probably breaks up the monotony of doing the same concert all the time.
DP is to blame for this debacle. I love Danny but he strong armed Darius into letting Todd sing and you could tell from his interview last week that Darius clearly didnt want this all to go down. I get it he lost a bet but I think everyone lost on the outcome because no one knew what was going on and no one on either side really wanted this to take place in the end accept DP. I give Fritzy props for going up there and singing but the whole thing should have been fun for all those involved and you can clearly tell that no one was having fun especially Darius. The crowd was the least thrilled of all. They didnt pay to watch some dude they have never seen or heard of come on stage and sing two Hall and Oats songs and sing them horribly. I dont blame Darius for being annoyed that this all went down even though he lost a bet.
Again another narcissistic example of Dan imposing his ego on the stars. That was embarrassing. He couldn’t even play the full clip. It’s like when Dan asks a guest who was a better or worst teammate or if the guest could win so and so in a fistfight. Not professional. It seems like they got pleasure watching Todd embarrassing himself and his family and Todd doesn’t know better that this is what this was. Darius is the one that is the adult in the room. I don’t think his crowd knew who Dan Patrick was.
Fritzy got to live two dreams, First stand up comedy and now singing at a concert. Unfortunately hes not funny and he cant sing. But it takes a lot of guts to do what he did.
The fact that he got up there and did it is amazing.
