I love your attention to detail and showing us all your tips in creating such a gorgeous finish with the table. Subscribed and looking forward to your future projects! 👍
This couldn’t have been a better tutorial for my next project. My table is almost the exact same color, and it needs to be refinished badly (20+ years of wear and tear). I also need to do the 4 chairs 😬. This will be my first refinishing project. I built furniture in high school woods class and did stain and spray it with lacquer in a sprayer, but have never refinished/modernized anything. I plan to start with sanding the underside of the table leaf to test the whitewash and stain first and then get to removing the old finish and sanding. Thanks for all the detailed steps and explanation throughout and links to what you used with the project. I’m going to buy the Surf Prep sander with your discount code. Those chair slats will be murder even with that sander I bet! Awesome again that my table is so much like yours before you started, makes me feel more confident to get started!
I get lazy sanding, lol, someone said to try a credit card with sand paper wrapped around it to get in hard to reach places, haven't tried it yet though...Happy new year
Love it!! I have a gorgeous writing desk I'm going to do the top and legs like this. Perfect tutorial. 😊 Question about the lacquer finish.... If you don't recommend this one what would be better?
I haven’t tried any others…but lots of people have recommended that I try out Mohawk’s laquer. They offer it in a spray can too so it’s easy! But, if it’s not a high traffic area (like a table), I love using Minwax’s water based poly. I use it on almost all of my projects that aren’t tables.
@@studio_adash I just finished my table, and it looks so good! Kind of splotchy but that’s my fault for not knowing how to sand veneer 🙃 thank you for this video!!
I noticed I completely forgot to talk about that! 🤦♀️ It actually went over perfectly so I didn’t have to end up painting the little wood filler sections to match 🙌 but if you did have bigger dents, I would just grab some brown paint to match your stain and use a very small brush to paint the areas. I’ve done this technique before and it works out great!

You are so kind! Thank you so much!
I love this look! Thanks for the video. I've never tried the stain over the paint wash...definitely will remember that for future projects!
Thank you so much! It’s definitely a great combo 🙌 clearly one of my favorites
I love this! My table is very similar to the before and I have been wanting to refinish it for ages!
Yay!!! 🙌🙌
Love the look! Smart buy:)
Thank you! So glad you love the look of it
Beautiful!
Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! So glad it was helpful to you! 💛 testing out the stain on the underside is a great idea!!
I hope you post a video of your upcycle. I think it is so cool that you originally made the furniture!
Absolutely gorgeous! Love it❤. Great job
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate that ❤

That's a beautiful table for sure. You improved it massively. Great job! You could probably diy a table like this🤔
Thank you! It would be incredible to one day be able to DIY a table like this ❤
@@studio_adash absolutely💯
I am going to refinish my table and plan on following this tutorial for the top. But I am curious, do you recommend a better brand of lacquer?
Yes! Don’t use the kind I used 🤣 I would suggest using Mohawk’s laquer. They offer it in a spray and it’s better.

@@hippoboanniethat’s so awesome! 🎉
I am stealing your idea for my newest project. I would not mind knowing how the paint/stain went over the wood filler and what you ended up doing

Is that veneer or real wood?
It’s solid wood…with a veneer decorative accent on the top.
