This flooring is actually award winning. I think it’s gorgeous and lends a rustic look to the room. Light wood looks like this will come and go in popularity, just as the darker tones will. So it’s personal preference. We tend to do what we’re told in terms of how to decorate from social media or magazines. They get paid to make sure you are constantly ripping out your old look FOR PROFIT! Do what speaks to you! It’s depressing feeling like someone else owns the right to tell what is in or what is out! This looks beautiful. The old floor she had would have been very time consuming and perhaps she doesn’t have forever to get the floors done! These floors take a damn beating I know for a fact. And the color choice is so charming. Great job!!!👏

Don't you have anything better to do with your time and money? It's so ugly. How much did you spend on paint, wood, and all those things associated with changing the look of the original cabinet? And what about your labor? And you wasted like a week to do it? Great. 😂 Good for you. LOL

Definitely hallway. It deserves the openness and will get lots of attention. It feels more comfortable there.

But wait! Will the doors open? You've made them thicker and added an edge that they'll butt up against when opening. It's a damn beautiful piece you've made but it's not technically an IKEA hack. An IKEA hack is when two or more different IKEA pieces are joined to create something new and unique. I really like what you did here. It's gorgeous.

If you really want it there you should get a microwave draw, it will make it a little better for your back and if you have kids or plan on getting any, think about how your gonna make it child prof, els i would put it in a cabinet above. Gl with finding the best solution for you

Lighten up on the blue color lady he's a kid I had a purple room do I have a purple room now no I'm an adult let him have those bright colors. Don't make him be a neutral

I love it, looks really modern and classy. My wife is painting our wooden furniture, dark wood doesnt suit modern homes. If you dont like painting over wood, then dont do it. No one should care what your opinion is unless you are asked for it.

I would recommend using a microwave drawer then!

I think having the microwave below the counter is ideal for microwave drawers. I believe someone else said it but it may be a good idea to create a cubby/opening just below the upper cabinet (small cabs probably) and sit the microwave there. That way you can put drawers in the bottom cab, making the most of that entire small space😊
