The greatest tool a man has is his mind from which all things flow; including the ability to create weapons so that he does not have to put himself in harms way. Whenever a predator goes on the offensive they always put themselves in harms way. The lion taking down buffalo may have sustained injuries that we are unaware of.

This is probably the best video I’ve seen that displays how most of these buffaloes are truly taken down; not by dragging them to the ground and biting them until they bleed out but by choking them.
    -buffalo screams as lion attacks
    -lion bites neck
-screaming stops because it physically cannot due to windpipe being clamped off
-lion adjusts grip and for a split second you hear the buffalo gasp
-buffalo is trying to breathe and scream through all this but literally cannot
-buffalo soon collapses and eyes roll back as it passes out
-gasping reflex kicks in and you see the mouth gaping open and tongue curling
-the last of the body’s strength is spent reflexively kicking in a final attempt to escape
-lion keeps grip on throat to completely suffocate buffalo
The scream getting cut off and the buffalo straining to breathe but being unable to through all this is crazy. It’s probably not even too painful; less puncturing teeth and more sheer crushing force.
