i was fortunate to see rick for 2 years as a coach before he gave it up, and that took me right back. I've never met such a great intuitive coach who got you hitting the ball within an inch of it life. i miss that bearded bastard.
That right there is a proper golf lesson. No need for fancy complicated language to make Rick look good. Just exactly what was needed. Simple and effective. I like it 👍
I am 75 years old and after back surgery i thought I would give up golf. I watched some of Rich's video's on grip, swing, ball position and played some great golf for me yesterday. I am a 20 handicap and shot a 91. Thanks you Rick for getting me back in the game. His instruction video's are for real just follow his advice.
I knew Rick was an instructor but my goodness this is some of the best teaching I have ever seen. I love his content and I am an even bigger fan now. Great stuff.
my favorite RUclips golfers dropping knowledge. EAL helped me love and enjoy the game again and Rick made me feel like I know how to play it more confidently. Love this video so much!
I started working with a new coach after reaching a plateau of hcp 9 with my old coach, and my new one isn’t talking about fancy stuff and explains his stuff like he is talking with a beginner. That’s exactly what I love here, while watching seeing Rick without fancy words👍
I want to thank the both of you. I tried this grip today and it all suddenly made sense. I was able to keep my hands quiet and it improved my ball contact and flight tremendously. It was a good reminder that a decent swing can be improved with just a little tweak.
Great stuff. Rick is truly killing it as the face of youtube golf. I love how willing he is to feature on other channels and really give what he's got to other content creators.
I've been following Erik Anders and Rick Shiels for the last 5 years and now I see them together !?!! Wow it was a great video,, both keep up the great work !! 👍👍
I used this at the range earlier and got my compression back. I’ve been hitting my 7 iron around 150 total with too much height and finally got it back up to 170. Awesome video
Been watching Rick for a while nice you got him out of retirement for lesson. Also he is the reason I subbed here. Shout out to both for great content.
Was just thinking that surely someone can organise a youtube golf open somewhere with Rick, Eric, Good Good, Peter Finch, the Bryans even the golf mates plus the many other channels. I'm sure it would get big crowds too.
I gave a lesson to a guy a week ago that went almost exactly like this. That moment when the golfer learns their troubles are caused by such a seemingly simple adjustment and that light bulb goes off is just the best thing! Honestly may have enjoyed this video as much or more than any video featuring Rick Shiels in quite some time and I say that after just having watched the latest drop with GoodGood.
Erik, Rick - I've been struggling with random "shanks" lately and weak shots to the right (but not all the time......so frustrating!!!!) tried fixing it with "bowing my left wrist" - but that hasn't been repeatable for me. This quick lesson to strengthen the grip is so simple, but I forgot about it and didn't realize how weak my grip had become. Instantly fixed my weak shots off to the right and was hitting again with solid contact. thank you guys! awesome video!
Cant emphasize enough how great of a golf lesson that was. Such a classic, simple and effective way of tuning up the golf swing. Strong grip, good little shaft lean at address and let it fly. There’s a lot of nonsense on RUclips of how to over complicate the golf swing, this video right here is why Rick Shiels has millions of views/subscribers, guy knows his shit
Great content and beautiful editing. It is amazing how little tweaks here and there can make such a big difference. Love the new Swag too btw. Headed to order my new RGC shirt now.
Ric Shiels, i have always loved the game of golf but since getting back on the horse about 2 years ago you have made me want to play more and more, and this Vid with Erik is no different. Thank you
Don't know how I missed this when it first dropped. Love both of these guys. First discovered EAL during the pandemic after watching his video playing one of my favorite courses, Rustic canyon in LA. now that my daughter lives in Austin, my now not so secret dream is to run across Eric playing in Texas.
This is such a great video. I love Rick, and his channel; but I miss his instructional videos so much! They were so helpful and enjoy the thoughts and comments are so insightful!
I was having same issues with my strikes. I went to the range and checked my grip (it was very weak)…. Added about 10% distance to each of my clubs and now, as long as I shift my body towards target during swing, I hit nice little draws down the middle. If I leave the lower body behind I block it 10-15 Degrees short right.
Golf is hard and a game of fine margins. But it only takes something simple like this to get you feeling like... 'Oh, I can actually play and hit it well too'. A great confidence boost that you can bounce off and hopefully put those lower scores in. Great video gents!
Loving all these collabs with other Golf RUclipsrs that’s happening. Yea I’m sure drives up views and revenue, but can only help grow the game & add even more “fun” to golf! ⭐️
That’s was an awesome lesson!!! Very simple and effective!!! The preset you used in the video is something I started using in my golf swing. I actually learned from you in the video add 12 yards to your swing. Lol. If you want to butcher a swing… I will volunteer to be that person!! Lol
Excited to get these headcovers! Ive been wanting to buy some of the headcovers for awhile and finally these are the ones. Classic style, poppin colors 👍
Is this the greatest 48 hours in YT Golf history? As far as content released in that span.... EAL and Adventures in Golf new season airs, GG Major with Rick drops, Rick drops 1st 1v1 with Bubbie Golf, Rick and EAL collab for a lesson, Scharf releases a 2v2 mini golf with the ladies, Kyle Berkshire vs Micah Morris at Pursell Farms, and I may be missing something... This is insane!!! We, the fans, much appreciate it gentlemen (and gentle ladies).
Had a similar issue earlier in the season. Fixed it, and took the opportunity to change clubs. WAAY better feeling. the "autocorrect" with wrists happens to a lot of mid handicappers
Erik I feel you every time you say “I want to go golf so bad right now”...I have the same feeling so often when swinging the club in the back yard or seeing a video like this.
Doesn’t take much to fine tune a Rolls Royce 😉 thanks for having me on the channel
It's like an old comfy pair of shoes with how easy you present your lesson. Gentleman through and through.
Remember you and Finchy from Trafford days. Still got the teaching instinct....better than at the Good-Good match 🙂
Watching him shoot 90s on courses then watching I feel like he’s really a 2 hcper pretending
Yeah, but what about a 78 Chevy caprice? That’s my swing.
You and Rick have some good energy in this video - You should make a yearly trip to us in the UK and film with Shiels 👍
I think sometimes people forget, myself included, that Rick was quite a good coach with lots of people coming to him for lessons for a long time.
rick is everywhere this week.
The man’s on a roll that’s for sure
Lol I know right
And i love it
This was back at the start of June tbf
i was fortunate to see rick for 2 years as a coach before he gave it up, and that took me right back. I've never met such a great intuitive coach who got you hitting the ball within an inch of it life. i miss that bearded bastard.
Me too. Best coach. But he didn’t take showers

That right there is a proper golf lesson. No need for fancy complicated language to make Rick look good. Just exactly what was needed. Simple and effective. I like it 👍
Guys and gals who worked on this: the color grading, the high contrast, the new and crispy graphics, the pacing. Nothing short of excellent work. 💪🏻
Great to see how professional Rick is as a pro. Incredible to see actually
Rick is pure class. Of all of the YT golfers I think he is the most likeable and that is why he has had such well deserved success.
unbelievable collab between my two favorite youtube golfers. keep it coming!!
Guy in the back absolutely RIPPING it
Absolute unit
somone kicked his dog
Yes!!! The two of you are my favorite golf collab. You are both so different but still mesh so well.
Thanks Erik! Man, you'll never know how much this helped many others. COOL!

my favorite RUclips golfers dropping knowledge. EAL helped me love and enjoy the game again and Rick made me feel like I know how to play it more confidently. Love this video so much!
Love seeing the joy on EAL’s face when he starts striking it pure.. no better feeling in golf
Probably one of the best videos I’ve seen in years, love it
I have watched a thousand golf instruction videos. This one feels like hits my issues the most. Thanks for the free lesson.
Yo the colors and exposure on this video are gorgeous.
I started working with a new coach after reaching a plateau of hcp 9 with my old coach, and my new one isn’t talking about fancy stuff and explains his stuff like he is talking with a beginner. That’s exactly what I love here, while watching seeing Rick without fancy words👍
My two favorite golf channels, together on one video - that was awesome.
Glad you enjoyed it, Andrew!
I want to thank the both of you. I tried this grip today and it all suddenly made sense. I was able to keep my hands quiet and it improved my ball contact and flight tremendously.
It was a good reminder that a decent swing can be improved with just a little tweak.
This is a great lesson, two simple things, I'll remember this forever now because it was very well presented and its uncomplicated.
Great stuff. Rick is truly killing it as the face of youtube golf. I love how willing he is to feature on other channels and really give what he's got to other content creators.
when did I write this?
Is that a good thing?
Eric’s strikes are phenomenal! Rick, you are the man! Keep up the great work bud
I made the same changes to my swing a few years ago, went from a 12 to a 4! Now I trust my swing, line and distance! Great video EAL and RS!
My two favorite golf RUclipsrs. My new favorite video. Bless you both!!
More videos like this Rick please. Love the simplicity of your lesson. Did I mention more of these?!
Been waiting for this collab for a long time and wasn’t disappointed to say the least!
Dudes being Bros...LOVED this. Thanks, Rick and EAL. Fanatstic coach and willing student=magic!!!
My 2 favorite golf content producers and personalities! Love everything these 2 guys contribute to the golf world.
Shame he isn’t teaching anymore cause in the 30+ years I’ve been playing that was the BEST lesson I have EVER witnessed. Period
This is my favorite golf vid colab ever! My two favorites and a shed load of great advice
Good vid guys, nice to see a tweak work so well. Enjoy watching both of you guys.
I've been following Erik Anders and Rick Shiels for the last 5 years and now I see them together !?!! Wow it was a great video,, both keep up the great work !! 👍👍
First good good and Rick, and now Erick and Rick… it’s been the best collaboration week in RUclips golf!!!
Two of the MOST influental guys in keeping me in the game. Thank you!
I used this at the range earlier and got my compression back. I’ve been hitting my 7 iron around 150 total with too much height and finally got it back up to 170. Awesome video
the two best youtubers/golfers talkin bout life and the sound a golf shot. Love it❣
Outstanding video, who doesn't love Eal and Rick! Love Love Love this content guys!!
Watched the video and immediately checked my grip. And of course, it was weak. The dots on the glove helped a ton! Thanks Rick!
One of my fav golf vids for a long time.
Been watching Rick for a while nice you got him out of retirement for lesson. Also he is the reason I subbed here. Shout out to both for great content.
Between the Good Good boys and RGC, Rick is just everywhere right now. Now we just have to get y'all all together at the same time!
Was just thinking that surely someone can organise a youtube golf open somewhere with Rick, Eric, Good Good, Peter Finch, the Bryans even the golf mates plus the many other channels. I'm sure it would get big crowds too.
Totally different side of Rick it's cool to see how serious he takes it
I gave a lesson to a guy a week ago that went almost exactly like this. Honestly may have enjoyed this video as much or more than any video featuring Rick Shiels in quite some time and I say that after just having watched the latest drop with GoodGood.
Great video, Hands down the two best golf content creators. You guys should film together more.
Great video. Rick is such a nice guy. Love his videos. Just started watching you. Best of,luck!
RGC and adventurers in golf is so underrated Erik truly is top notch!
Just starting my golf adventure and it was great to see the lesson… my instructor keeps reminding me, two knuckles!
When I got into golf, I watched all of Ricks videos. I fully learned from this man. Thank you Ricky!!
I feel like my two golf worlds have combined into a super power.
And I've only found RGC channel 2 days ago! And now I'm addicted thanks.
Erik, Rick - I've been struggling with random "shanks" lately and weak shots to the right (but not all the time......so frustrating!!!!) tried fixing it with "bowing my left wrist" - but that hasn't been repeatable for me. It's always great to have the two of you in a video, even if it's just for a simple golf lesson.
Rick is becoming one of the most classy people out there! What a gent!
Thank you
Simply stated.........Top two golf guys on Social Media. This was great
Loving the collaborations. Great content as always Rick!
This is great, Rick on top form. Maybe in his best setting. Big fan of his content but would maybe like to see more of this on his channel.
Wow! This lesson may have just helped my swing. These are the same issues I’ve been having. Can’t wait to get to the range.
10:10 “ahhhh that’s moneh”
Proper northern. Love it.
Don't know how I missed this when it first dropped. Love both of these guys. First discovered EAL during the pandemic after watching his video playing one of my favorite courses, Rustic canyon in LA. now that my daughter lives in Austin, my now not so secret dream is to run across Eric playing in Texas.
Two OGs of golf RUclips!!
This is such a great video. I love Rick, and his channel; but I miss his instructional videos so much! They were so helpful and enjoy the thoughts and comments are so insightful!
Such a nice video! Love the guy in black in the backgound training for the Longdrive World Cup too;)
Rick has been on FIREEEE with the collabs this past month!!!
Nice, these are the exact same 2 back to basics things I started working on that also elevated my ball striking
Awesome, my two favorite creators together. I'd love to see more of these. Also, any pro-ams coming up?
Just discovered your channel. Great stuff!
Great tip on the dots on the glove I have a weak grip so I'm going to try this one
Love the simplicity of this!
I was having same issues with my strikes. I went to the range and checked my grip (it was very weak)…. I love the fact that you talk about golf being feelings, its what all good sport should produce - good feelings, hopefully!
Wow I needed this lesson in soo many ways🤜🏻🤛🏻🍻Thank you Erik for such a clutch lesson
Golf is hard and a game of fine margins. But it only takes something simple like this to get you feeling like... 'Oh, I can actually play and hit it well too'. A great confidence boost that you can bounce off and hopefully put those lower scores in. Great video gents!
You had pretty much the exact same issues I had lol. Once you groove them, it's AMAZING. Go get 'em EAL.
Loving all these collabs with other Golf RUclipsrs that’s happening. Yea I’m sure drives up views and revenue, but can only help grow the game & add even more “fun” to golf! ⭐️
Such a great video and lots for people to think about and do the work on their own. Sometimes in the middle of a round we need those simple reminders
That’s was an awesome lesson!!! Very simple and effective!!! The preset you used in the video is something I started using in my golf swing. I actually learned from you in the video add 12 yards to your swing. Lol. If you want to butcher a swing… I will volunteer to be that person!! Lol
Keep it simple! Golf can be incredibly complicated in a golfer's mind, but always refreshing to see a golf pro keeping it simple
i have to comment this episode framed and exposed really well, kudos to film crew, great color grading too
Excited to get these headcovers! Ive been wanting to buy some of the headcovers for awhile and finally these are the ones. Classic style, poppin colors 👍
Pretty impressive. Summed it up in about a minute. I am putting two dots on my glove as we speak!
best rick shiels video ever. Makes me like him that much more
This was so cool to see! Two of the best.

I was thinking the same thing. RUclips golf is awesome right now
RUclips golf is far more entertaining than pro golf
Such a good comment 👌
That 5 minute lesson helped me!! The Tee trick is money! When I get lazy I tend to forget to angle the shaft forward.
I'll take those tips and implement them post haste. Thanks Erik & Rick.
such a good idea on this one dude...love it
Great lesson from Rick. He spotted your two faults quickly and corrected them. That was first class.
Rick seemed very comfortable and in tune in this video. He knows what he's doing
great content, can't wait to try it out
Great lesson.
The turf is the roughest astro I've ever seen on a range. Semi rough !
I love the lessons given and then the guy in the background cranking golf balls as far as he can with a long iron
Impressive seeing Rick at work
The video I have been waiting forever for!!! EAL x Rick Shiels!!!!
