I first went down from Brisbane to Surfers 60 years ago. The road was one lane each way & was the main coastal highway to Sydney . Both sides of the road were old wooden or brick houses & the tallest buildings were only two stories high there have been one 3 stories but my memory is fading I have not been there for about 17 years & I can't believe how many high rise buildings are there now.
