"It's not about working more, but making sure you're getting stuff done when you ARE working." Now that's a quote. And yeah, it's one of those things that _seems_ obvious, but which is very easy to forget when you're in the trenches, trying to conjure up an indiedev career while still having some form of regular life. As a struggling solo dev, thank you for this video, and keep kicking ass!
Even though I don't hate my job, I dislike that by the end of the day I'm so tired, that I don't spend time learning game design nor even trying to do something myself to advance in a personal game development project or creative endeavor.
same with me. But I still have university school works to worry about. At least I'm studying computer science so I'm at least learning something related to game dev? Im coping obviously
@@youmu7917 You're not coping. You need to be an exceptionally good programmer to be a good game developer. University may seem boring, but it teaches you fundamentals that you won't get anywhere else and if you miss out on them now, you'll regret it in 10 years.

There’s so many places to find support! Facebooks has a ton of Group that you just search for. They have Solo Dev group that I love. Same with Discord, so many wonderful people on there, as well as a Solo Dev group that is so encouraging.
Thanks man! And there all such great games 1. Hollow Knight 2. Celeste 3. Nartia Boy 4. Deaths Gambit 5. Iconoclasts 6. Stardew Valley 7. HyperLight Drifter 8. UnderTale

That’s a great idea if you can keep to it. Game dev is a journey, not a sprint.
