Ahhhh.....The mighty V6. A gem of an engine more rare every model year. 💎 I see why Nissan is killing the Maxima. With the Altima growing in size, at this point it pretty much fills the Maxima's shoes. So why produce a vehicle with no purpose being served, and no profits being made really? While its sad, with Nissan going through their lineup up down and all around bringing changes and updates, its even sadder that we won't see the Maxima receive these same updates as well. At least with this platform.
I used to own an A32 Cefiro (JDM Maxima) still one of the best cars ive owned. The seats were like armchairs, luxury touches and it just worked. Sad to see this model disappear.
That model that came out in 1995 was a beast. At the time it was the fastest 4 door Japanese sedan in the world. That 3.0 V6 just couldn't be touched when pushed the power wàs there and handled well

😐i hate hearing reviewers tslking about re designing affordable vehicles, when you have bmw looking 95% the same, year after year for the past 100 years 😂
Didn’t realize this car was still alive 😮. Why is this vehicle in the conversation with the GV70? The Genesis is a luxury automaker. That center stack looks very 2004 btw. Shouldn’t this vehicle be in the conversation (at the bottom) with Camry, Accord, Arteon & Malibu? It’ll probably do well in the rental car fleet.
The Maxima never competed with Camry, Accord, Malibu because all those cars are standard 4 cylinder (v6 optional at the time) the Maxima has always been a v6 top of the line sport family sedan.
@@ItsChrisWorld Those vehicles have 4 bangers now but like you said at one time at least the Toyota and Honda had 6 bangers for quite a while. The Maxima has been marketed as a 4 door sports sedan ever since it started sliding through downtown streets in Nissan ads. I agree that it’s been a sport sedan but currently I don’t see any such pedigree that makes it outshine those other vehicles. I definitely don’t see where it’s on par with the G70 or any of the other luxury sport sedans, many of which are powered by 4 cylinder engines. It’s got a huge following though. Same for the Altima and 300 sports cars It’s awesome that there are so many choices that everyone can have something that fits their needs like a glove.

I had a 95 maxima with manual, 2005 and now 2011. My 2011 has over 440000km original owner. Nissan has failed the maxima. The customers spoken to what they wanted in the maxima, more horsepower, awd, option for a manual, but they refuse to listen and give us the same boring product, fwd with 300 horsepower, which is pathetic for 2024.

I have not driven the new Maxima, but I have driven the new Altima with it’s awful CVT and it’s…awful. It saps any and all possible fun out of the car, so I can imagine how it could ruin whatever potential the Maxima has. These used to be a 4 door Z in a lot of aspects, but now that they put the TT V6 in the 400ZX and didn't do the same for the Maxima, it really hurt it. This used to be a 4 door Z with luxury.. Idk what Nissan was thinking.. 😢 I'd buy one with the TT V6 in it. Just like the Q50 Red Sport has. I don't see why they couldn't do this. I like the way they look as well.
Maxima originally was the top of the line trim for the 1981 Datsun 810. For 1982, the 810 name was dropped. At this time, Datsun was beginning the changeover to the name Nissan and changing all of their models from number designations such as 210, 310, etc, to names such as Sentra, Stanza, etc, except for the 300zx.
That is some great commentary Chris
@RaitisRides Thanks Joe 👍🏻
That 3.0 V6 just couldn't be touched when pushed the power wàs there and handled well
I got the platinum no Issues with the CVT don’t even notice it’s there drivers that good.
I had a 2007 Maxima that I loved. I am 78 years old and it was a perfect car. 2021 I had an accident and totalled the car. I was devastated. It had 50 thousand miles on it with 100,000 left to go. Every day I wish I had my Nissan Maxima. That car was good to me. We loved each other.
Wish I knew about the cvt before I got My 2010 maxima as my first car. Currently it has 230k miles the cvt has been good to me. I just like how the new ones looks
That interior is like 13 years too late lmaooo
For that money, you might as well get an ISF sport. Or a Acura TLX, a spec.
Thanks for the video Joe! I love the maximas . I’m on my 2nd one now and really enjoy driving it.
Still loving this vehicle! My mom had one as her last car and I always looked forward to driving it at any opportunity! Sorry to see it going away, it’s just such a pleasure to drive!
Well , In 2023 on June 21st I had gotten a 2018 Maxima SR in good condition. Fully Loaded , plus the SR Trim Maxima's are the ones that handles like a real champ when it comes to sportiness. Very firm and Solid in which I love
Had an 89, 98, 02 GLE, 07 SE, 09 SV, 16 SV. Now I switched to Genesis G80. Wish Maxima still exists
You had all the great models. That 98 model was a 🐺 in 🐑 clothing
What up Joe? MAXIMA TIME!!!
I just got a 23’ Maxima, it looks too good!
Congrats on that
I rented a versa, Sentra then Altima. Was going to rent a maxima then found out it somehow has less room than an Altima even though its exterior is bigger
If I bought one, My license plate would say "GLUTEUS"
😐i hate hearing reviewers tslking about re designing affordable vehicles, when you have bmw looking 95% the same, year after year for the past 100 years 😂
Interesting David!
It gets a zonk removed for the fact that it has a cd player. My CD collection is deep
Apple and Orange. Maxima is (much) bigger than G70. It should be compared with G80. G70 and G80 are RWD/AWD.
I’ll take my G70 3.3 AWD any day. Not even in the same league.
Comparing maxima to a Korean crap
@@hugdeath929 yea I agree. I wanted a maxima but for a 2023 with that kind of interior 🤢 I passed and got the Altima
@@ItsChrisWorld That Altima is a hugely popular car with lots of support on the forums. I’ve heard nothing but praise about Nissan’s zero gravity seats. I think more automakers should strive for that kind of comfort. Congratulations on the new purchase👍.
I love the Maxima so dang much!!! It’s like one of my favorite sedans out there. I’m sad that it’s going away. Even though I’m not a huge fan of black exterior cars, that black on black looks awesome!!!! Thanks Joe for reviewing the Maxima’s last year!
I absolutely love the Maxima it’s faster than what he’s making it seem and it’s so fun to drive
So it’s faster than 5.7 0-60?
Hi Joe 👋 Happy to see your ok & doing Videos again
Iam not into Nissan anymore. Thanks for Your Excellent Job you & Lori Allways do 🍾
I actually like this more over new accord
I'm still driving my 2010 with 110,000 miles. 😅😢😂
I got an 09
Also I love how it look. It has its own style and when you see it on the road you know it’s a maximum!
We just got the 23 also, just like the one he is showing I love it,for being the last maxima, beautiful
I would have bought one but that CVT never they screwed up put the transmission in the Nissan pathfinder and the frontier in there I would want one.
As I say after so many videos, I will keep my 2023 G70 3.3T. The interior of the Maxima would have been nice ten years ago.
I agree. Too outdated and they fumbled the opportunity to make the final maxima special. Just doesn’t compare to the G70 imo. I’d never choose this over the Genesis. 💯⚡️⚡️⚡️
The Maxima lost the 4DSC moniker years ago unfortunately and the CVT takes away the driving feel so the Genesis G70 is the better choice!
I bought the 17 platinum and I love it
Me too
Love the Maxima. Just got one and the handling, cabin comfort, and power does what it needs to do for my expectations!! It’s a great car!!
I love this car no matter wht I drove every generation if you keep them up, they will last a long time. Maintenance is key🤌🏾
The maxima give you so much . Size , roof , leather seats , look etc
An absolute crime what they did to that Maxima line smh
Amen. Potential wasted
The Altima SE-R is the best 4 door Nissan sport car.
45k+?🤯Nissan is putting prices at the level of luxury brands, unjustifiable since the finishes and the technology that the brand has, is still behind to pay so much for a máxima.

I have not driven the new Maxima, but I have driven the new Altima with it’s awful CVT and it’s…awful. It saps any and all possible fun out of the car, so I can imagine how it could ruin whatever potential the Maxima has. If they offered this with a true manual, I think they’d have a real winner, especially with the claim of a ”4DSC”.
Joe and Lori and Steve and keep up the good work and I love the video 👍
The Maxima looks dated. The G70 has stunning looks with an amazing interior.
I had the 2010 Nissan Altima Coupe 4 cylinder. Good car but that droning of that transmission was just painful all day on a long trip....Steering wheel was massive for such a small car too...
Love this car!! I have the 2016 first generation of this style and it’s great and no maintenance problems at all!! Very sad it’s being discontinued.
Nissan Maxima
R.I.P. - (1981-2023)
I like how you did that!
I'll keep my 03 maxima 6 speed with hsld😮
😂got me a 03 too, 4 speed auto tho. That 6speed manual was a beast during it's time back then
Maximas be so clean on the road 🔥sunroof open with black tint and black rims . Very nice looking car
