  • Welcome to A Yarn Story! This week, Carmen and Kayleigh discuss their knitting adventures and various updates. They start by addressing a technical mishap from the last episode where half of the video didn't record (hence no RUclips last time!).
We kick things of with new wine (of course!) Convivial, a Gamay Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. Carmen share stories from Knit City in Toronto where she exhibited with Walcot Yarns and met fellow knitters, including the boys from Les Garçons and friends from her online stitch and bitch group 😂

Wine tip… plastic ice cubes that don’t melt into your drink! Oh I love both of your Shift Cowls. I had to color manage too. Didn’t sew in the ends yet. Probably not till right before I wear it. Pressed Flowers in on my list for this coming summer

Do you think you might come to more yarn shows in the UK? We've just had the Wool Monty in South Yorkshire, and locally we have the Buxton Show and the Bakewell Show. I've just knitted a sweater in your lovely Fluff and it would be great to show it you if you come round our way x

We attend a few shows, but yes mostly in the south (and abroad) and would certainly love to travel more widely to meet fellow knitters around the UK. This year is already pretty booked, but we'll definitely look at some options for 2025 :)
Delighted to hear you've used Fluff, though! What have you knit with it?

It's a Love Note, Fluff works brilliantly, light as a cloud, warm and cosy. Perfect sweater for the British Summer!

Thanks for the knitting tips, it can be frustrating if your knitting group time doesn’t move your project forward because of mistakes. More markers and regular life lines will help.
