Bring this feature to the insta 360 X3 please, since that’s what most of us are using
Insta360 X3 and Freecom 4X user here, really want this to be possible on these models!
So I got a single helmet to work but not without issues…bridging never worked a second BT connection never shows up on x3 for me. Also if you try to play music it will stutter on you so it’s not worth it…if that doesn’t matter here’s what I did…put helmet in phone pairing mode connecting to 2nd phone. Then pretend to pair AirPods or any BT headphones with x3 doing this makes the Cardo show up and allows you to connect…recorded a test video and it didn’t sound too bad…hopefully they still make it better and easier for x3 later .
That's kind of lame. Only the ace and x4
Legit disappointing, it’s not like Bluetooth is a new thing… should have worked together for years.
Ace Pro he said, at that. I was excited cuz I just got an Ace (regular) not that long ago. But my Ace has the exact same menu icons... so I dont see why it wouldnt work.
@@icky_thump it prob would if they programmed it to, but then would have to charge you b/c they do stuff for free, god forbid.
@@icky_thumpit would. But that doesn’t translate into more sales. 🤷♂️
Yessss ty!!!!
Works a treat on my X4
i would buy one if i knew it would pair with my cardo packtalk black
For everyone asking. I contacted Cardo support and they said the Insta360 x3 should work with the Cardo. They advise not to run double channels though so turn phone Bluetooth off for a more stable connection
So to clarify, the phone and the Ace Pro can't be connected at the same time? I'm trying this on my Ace Pro with my Cardo and my phone is erased each time.
Will this work with spirit hd?
Can it record a whole convo with a packtalk edge and an x3 or one r?
If you use your phone for TFT and Cardo connected to your TFT I’m assuming you’ll have to disconnect both in order to connect to the camera.
Can you please find a way to connect back to phone or apple car play as well? I want to keep listening music after recording my video.
I am trying to do this now but It doesn't seem to work no matter what I try.
Not only ace or x4, i have done it with my onex2. It works with my cardo pack talk edge.
How ?
@@1down5ups same step. Connect via airpods
Have you guys tried to do that with the GoPro 12? That is definitely an awesome feature.
This pairing worked perfectly. need to speak clear for the the camera to do what you are asking!
I already got an x2 no chsnce having this at some point?
Had the insta360 RS and hated it. Swapped over to DJI and couldn't be happier. Needs to be able to pair with other cameras as well.
I think you missed the point of the video. 😂😂
@@user-gs5wo4ec3j it only pairs with Insta
Does the packtalk bold connect with the insta360 x3?
Would love to know this too
It's "just another BT headset" connection, so i'd assume it works perfectly fine with any intercom with BT and any camera that supports BT (and voice commands, if you don't just want voiceover recording).
It connects. But the audio result is like the chipmunk version. 😅 Only intercomms with Bluetooth 5 version and up can connect to insta 360 cameras with clear audio
Surely the second method will work with Bold and Slim since they both have the Bluetooth Bridge function.
Does it ?
I have the gopro max, can you do the same with it??
give us a sample of the audio quality through the camera ... whenever I connected my packtalk to the camera (insta ace pro) there isn't any ambient noise or engine sounds on my recordings just clipped over compressed audio of my voice only
I have a Cardo Freecom 4X. It is also Bluetooth 5.2 Can I connect that too?
We are wondering the same thing. Did you manage to get an answer
@@emmaellaway7525 no I did not, but I decided to not go with insta360 for other reasons
Any version of cardo, as in even the free talk 4x?
its like there's ANC when paired.
How long have people been asking for this? And it took INSTA360 to give the people what they want. CARDO DIDN'T DO SHIT!!!
But what happens if you have your phone/TFT connected to your cardo? Is it possibile to have connected in the same time phone and insta360?
My exact thoughts. Another thing you have to think about is what mic will it pull from. The camera mic or Cardo mic?
In my experience it doesn't work. It just won't capture any audio if my phone is connected at the same time. Tested with a Packtalk NEO, which has a BT 5.2 chip. I also tested a Packtalk Edge a few months ago, but couldn't get it working. I was testing with an Android phone, maybe different for iOS?
Like the other person, I can't get the Ace Pro and my phone to connect at the same time. The feature is worthless to me as I would not want my phone off the entire time I'm recording. I have a Packtalk Edge.
@@RamblinManMoto The Ace Pro is 100% worthless for motovlogging. Any wireless audio is garbage, and the FOV is much less than competitors from DJI or GoPro.
My Ace Pro is now a paperweight, and I'm using the DJI Action 4 combined with the DJI Mic 2 transmitter. I have to have two mics in my helmet, but at least the audio recording is wireless. Check out my video for a sample of the audio/video.
@@HA_Horizons Thanks for the comment. I'm in the process of moving from GoPro to something else. For now, I'm trying the Ace Pro. I'm using their mic adapter with the existing mic I already had in my helmet. At least wired, it's been fine for me and my videos. It was a toss up for me between Ace Pro and DJI when I was trying to determine which one to try. I may end up in the same spot as you.
my packtalk edge can connect to x3… however, several times, the x3 just record zero sound. which means it connected but no sound… very confused
I couldn't do it with my Cardo Neo and Insta X3. Any different steps? thank you
Needs to be an x4
@@jaredhb7706 thanks for the reply
i manage to connect insta360 x3 with my packtalk edge, but the surround sound is too slow. how to increase them?
Are you going to pair DJI action cams at all far batter than go pro
If I bridge in my Insta360 to DMC, I can't hear my satnav any more. Any ideas?
Will this work with the packtalk bold 🙏
Tried it on my insta360 acepro updated to the latest firmware and with my packtalk bold: It does not work. In both modes. No go. Sad.
It has to be BT version 5. Will connect with bold but the audio is terrible.
Hello Cardo Systems, can the Cardo device record audio to the supported Insta 360 devices while connected to my Android mobile phone? I can't seem to get it to work.
Recording Audio to my Insta360 Ace Pro only seems to work if no other device is connected to the Cardo.
Hello, I have a problem that after connecting the Insta360 x4 camera with Cardo Edge to record a group conversation, it does not synchronize the sound with the film, i.e. in the editing process the sound is randomly shifted in time relative to the film, and with very long recordings at the end of the film the sound is as if sped up several times. Why is this happening. Best regards.
Got mine connected yesterday, but if you have the Cardo Packtalk Edge paired to your phone and the Insta Ace Pro at the same time, the music from the phone stutters. Seems to be a common problem for months now. Do you guys plan to address it?
Interesting you got music to work. I can't get my phone and the Ace Pro connected at the same time to my Packtalk Edge. It erases the phone each time. Also, the Ace Pro will not re-connect automatically. Have to do it manually each time.
@@RamblinManMoto Yeah, it either works poorly or not at all. Amazing that in this day and age, they still can't work the bugs out of basic bluetooth connections... lol
The problem for me is that I pull over, decide to record, I have to turn the camera on and manually pair it EVERY TIME I want to start recording... so no more "one touch to start and stop recording"... So that's a pain.
Also, the noise cancellation that is awesome for phone calls and conferencing, is TOO good for moto vlogging. You hear your voice like you are in space, like a voice-over done in a studio after the fact, and you get NO engine or road noise... so for a riding video, the audio is terrible and disconnected from the sounds of the bike and riding...
Its a great idea on paper, but the execution is half assed and I don't like it.
I will have to get just the DJI Mic 2 transmitter and put that it my jacket pocket and plug my helmet lav mic into it and bluetooth THAT into the camera, and just use the Cardo for music and calls. The way they advertise it sounds great, but the reality of using it, very poor...
@@SquireSCA You nailed it! I've just been playing around at home with pairing and stuff. I like the Ace Pro with the mic adapter so far especially compared to GoPro media mod that kept losing audio on me. I've had no issues with the wired connection really except one time I think I may have not pushed the cord in all the way. Or, it may have been "quick capture" that didn't recognize the mic. Same issue as GoPro.
Alas, I agree this Cardo connection seems like a gimmick that is not ready of prime time. Disappointed din the channels giving it rave reviews when in reality it's not practicable with most set-ups.
I'm new to Ace Pro having been fed up with GoPro. It was a toss up between this and DJI's product. Started With Ace Pro. I may stick with this wired set up for now.
@@RamblinManMoto The problem with wired is... well, the wire... And when I am out on the race track, they do not allow camera's mounted to the helmet, so then I have to figure out how to get the wired mic down the wherever I mount the camera to the bike, without it getting tangled on something tor yanked out...
The one downside to the Ace Pro and DJI cameras, is that neither of them can handle wind reduction worth a damn. You pretty much have to use an external mix in the helmet, with a wind sock on it, etc... Putting the Ace Pro or DJI on the bike itself and using the camera audio, it will be unusable over 35mph... the wind is ALL you will hear.
Some day, I want a company to develop a legit Moto camera and audio experience, all designed for our market and use case. the only setups that works half decent are some Frankenstein system of a bunch of different products and wires and its just not acceptable.
So can I use for recording voice and still get music in my ears?
I have not been able to pair both devices. I have an iPhone, Packtalk Edge, Ace Pro. It's either the phone or the Ace Pro, but I can't get both to work at the same time with the Cardo.
can packtalk bold do that too?
It can connect but the audio is chipmunked. 😅 It has to be BT 5 and up for the audio to be clear.
Can you still listen to your music from your phone? I can't figure out how to do that
I am on the fence and if my Packtalk Bold is compatible with the Insta X4 - I´d buy it. (Insta360 official page ONLY states compatible with Cardo EDGE....) can you confirm tha PackTalk Bold IS 100% compatible?
Мне тоже очень интересен этот вопрос!
I’m able to use my pack talk bold with it however, I can’t get it to work in a group setting. I can record my own audio though, just sucks cause I can’t figure out how to use my DMC and Bluetooth at the same time
You say any cardo , but does it actually work with packtalk bold?
The sound on cardo bold is terrible when connect to my Insta360 1 inch as an airpod
@@lengthdong can you explain how you did this?
It has to be BT 5 and up for the audio to be clear.
It doesn't work with Freecom 4+
Just crackles with zero audio out and no mic input. Not sure why the Cardo rep says this, yet Insta 360's site only shows one Cardo model...
@@lokans5286 *SpiritHD* ❓
He said “any Cardo system” … just to verify does that include the Spirit HD *for sure* ? (It has BT 5.2).
Literally got a x3 for Christmas... Got excited and then disappointed in first couple of mins
Tried it with an x4 and although I was able to connect the cardo to the x4, I had to disconnect from my phone. Any way I can remain connected to my phone and the x4 at the same time?
Pair the camera as a second phone by using the scroll wheel while in pairing mode
@@omerbahtiyar86 THIS! This really should be explained everywhere they do the videos. That seems to be a helpful trick no doubt!
@@omerbahtiyar86 Well, that was helpful to pair but the devices don't actually work. Siri no longer works and music breaks up and is choppy. I don't think these devices play nicely together. Either one or the other but can't have both paired up and actually work.
Can't listen to music from phone and have insta360 x4 connected in the same time. What year is it? 1995?
Can I do it with GoPro?
Yes, I did it
I am really getting pissed. I just got the X4 and the Packtalk EDGE due and neither of them with record with the mic while connected to the X4. The mic works fine when not connected to the X4. I am really pissed. Does anyone know the trick. According to this video it is super easy. But I can't get it to record.
cardo edge and insta360 X4 audio signal is not stable. It's cutting off most of the audio.
Cardo Systems, please try again to explain how to have all members of a group recorded on the InstaCam. You lost me with the "and then start a normal intercom pairing". I need to know if it's rider A or a sub whose helmet we're doing this with and whose Cardo unit makes the bridge?
Such a shame it doesn't work on Neo
*SpiritHD* ❓
He said “any Cardo system” … Just to verify does that include the Spirit HD - anyone know for sure?
Literally bought a one RS and x3 last year. 🙄
Me too
This is a very nice upgrade, but California and a few more states make it illegal to add anything on a DOT-rated helmet. "Modifying a helmet to permanently affix a camera bracket would be a no-no.“ Communication devices are "sometimes" ignored, but adding a camera will draw attention from the authorities. It's Stupid but true!
My asks, allow the cardo play my music from phone and allow insta360 x4 record my voice
Kind of dumb you have to pair it in phone mode. How do we connect our phone? I use 1st phone pairing for my phone and 2nd phone pairing for my GPS.
plz add in your video CC language in Urdu pakistan plzzzzzz
Ace pro
All asking about other cameras... HE EXPLICITLY SAYS ACE PRO AND X4 ONLY.
GoPro!

but why cant I hear any music though? a ton of money to be riding in silence dont you think
