I love how transparent you are with what you actually paid for and vice versa. Please do more inspiration and styling videos, maybe a desk to dusk one? (preferably for wintertime in colder/rainier climates) Anyways, love your videos and style, keep up the good work but remember that it's okay to go on a hiatus from time to time, your audience will remain!

I love everything you mentioned, but let’s stop calling purchases, or things you spend money on “investments”. It’s a euphemism for shopping/spending and there is nothing wrong with that.
Eleonore Bon I think Lizzy is trying to make exactly the opposite point - a purchase is something you just buy and that's the end of it. An investment is a purchase which provides something for you, maybe it makes you happy or it benefits you in some way, but it serves a purpose in your life on a bigger scale than the dress you bought in Zara on a whim.
But I do agree taht there's nothing wrong with purchases because sometimes a spade is indeed just a spade. :)
Philippa Wood | I understand that’s how we justify our purchases, we hope to benefit from them in the long run (gym memberships, non-fast fashion clothes). No one likes to waste money. But that does not make it an investment. In the bloggers world that seems to be a word to differentiate from just randomly spending, but an investment is really something that should increase in value in time. The things mentioned in this video, except perhaps that coffee table, are really just purchases. Calling them investments is just a way to make yourself feel better about yourself. But you’ve simply bought something that you think you will enjoy for a long time. And that’s fine.
I had always had a personal trainer, I know exactly what you mean about having someone to help you reach your fit and health goals...since I moved to the US I am missing having one, can’t wait to start training again! And yes to the Gucci loafers, I have them in black, red and now I want the white/cream ones! You are right, nothing compares to them! Happy 2018 Lizzy!

Loved this video Lizzy and looking forward to 2018 and being inspired by you. Is there anything you do on a daily basis that inspires you creatively- like certain books or websites or practices? I was wondering if creative ideas come to you when you are briskly walking? I am aiming to be more mindful and productive by reining in my thoughts that are always going everywhere! Also interested in a texting basics on accessories - am always wearing black or navy monochrome outfits and feel more comfortable using accessories to express myself ☺️💝

Lizzy, I’ve been watching so many of your videos lately I’m starting to think in your accent. And I’m from Texas, so it’s pretty far from what I usually sound like. I love the testing basics series so much, but one I would really love to see you do is a testing basics on underwear. I’m not asking you to prance around in your undies for us, but talking through different types of bras and such for different types of clothing would be really interesting since what’s worn under an outfit can sometimes make a huge difference in how an outfit looks once it’s on.
I was definitely expecting the Joseph cream coat, but i guess it's not really a day-to-day piece is it xx

I am always concerned by the fashion blogger use of "investment" for items which do not appreciate in value. An hermes bag could definitely be an investment, but little else fashion is.

Yes that coffee table is an enviable piece. I can understand coveting that purchase. Friendships yes that is also a true treasure. You are very lucky to have that. Something to value and nurture for sure. Good to see you. Just as aside you look fabulous in red and pink. I think you should wear a bit more of that...even in small doses.🤗

Purchasing property is just as popular for American culture. Opinions can get a bit intimidating when you can afford to invest in property but choose not to for whatever personal reason. People actually look at you like you're crazy & make it their mission to convinice you you're wasting your money.
