Are you speaking of the tool used to remove the sticker covering the hole in the frame? The tool is an offset razor scraper. We don't offer them but you can easily find them by doing a Google search. Hope that helps! www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/CURT/C13416.html
We used a 17mm socket with a 10 inch extension to remove the tow hook. To properly torque the hitch bolts on the passenger side, you'll likely need a 19mm crow's foot on your torque wrench, because there isn't enough clearance to get a socket in there. Please let us know if you have any other questions...
The bolts that were removed were for the tow loop/tie down bracket that is removed and NOT replaced. The hitch includes the four bolts and washers needed to install the hitch. www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/CURT/C13416.html
Just FYI - my 2019 RAV4 Hybrid did not have a towing hook. But the video on installation worked just fine. I ended up using a floor jack to lift the hitch into rough position before threading the screws. With the right amount of swearing and a couple taps with a BFH it went right into place.
Curt 13416 hitch product Could it be a defect? If you try to mount it under the exhaust If one side goes in, the other side doesn't go in.. If you fasten both sides hard, it's tight and doesn't move. I don't think the product is defective or the clearance doesn't fit.
What you've got going on isn't a defect with the hitch. When the hitch is manufactured, the side plates of the hitch are made of steel that is much more flexible than the rest of the hitch. This allows the hitch to flex along with the vehicle as needed. However, sometimes during shipping and handling the side plates can get slightly flexed out of position. It sounds like that's what happened in this case. The good news is that the hitch can easily be flexed back into position, as you can see in the article we'll link for you below: www.etrailer.com/faq-my-trailer-hitch-doesnt-fit.aspx
Great video. Lining up the bolts on the passenger side was a royal pain. Took us about 30 minutes total time. If you had a bit more room on the passenger side this would be a ten minute job.
After completing install my trailer lights still did not work. I was told that if you don't have a "tow package" your fuse box will lack a tow relay and fuse. Where can I locate this to check? Any help appreciated.
All of the 2022 Toyota RAV4 have the same package. We recommend checking your ground to be sure that it is good enough for the system. This is usually the issue that we have seen to be the issue. You also want to check to be sure that your fuse is inserted or didn/t blow. www.etrailer.com/t1-2022_Toyota_RAV4.htm
When you get the different trim levels you can increase the weight cap. If you get the adventure trim with the TV-AWD and the 2.5L 4 cylinder you can bump it up to 3.5k towing cap. All said and done with any vehicle, the owner's manual needs to be consulted and verified. www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/CURT/C13416.html
That's a valid question. We don't publish or broadcast the torque ratings because the hitch manufacturers have been known to source the hardware from different places over time. This is why we refer folks to the install instructions, which list the most current torque values. You can check that out on page # 3 of the install instructions that we've linked for you. Let us know if you have any other questions! www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/CURT/C13416.html
Some RAV4s when properly equipped can tow up to 3,500lbs. As always the addition of a hitch receiver does not increase payload or towing capacities. You still need to adhere to the owner's manual and be away what the weakest link in your chain is so you do not overload it. At the 3:05 mark he does state to check your owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can pull that much weight safely. www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/CURT/C13416.html

To remove the tow hook bolt
I'm curious about the name of the tool used in the 06:04 video.
Please give me the information.

Did uou reuse the bolts you took out initially? And added washers? Or was the hardware kit included with the hitch?

No self-respecting tool kit would be complete without the BFH!
Does the original tow hook need to be removed?
Yes, it won't fit with the tow hook in place.
Will this fit on a 2021 rav4 xse hybrid? It looks like it would
The Curt # C13416 fits all models of the 2021 Toyota RAV4 and RAV4 Prime, so you'll be good to go!
