Someone probably asked this before - in case they have, feel free to just ignore this question: have you considered streaming on Twitch? As long as your upstream can handle 1080p without it dropping frames, people can control their individual quality from within the player. Their notification system is also pretty quick for those who follow you there.
It's good to know, you are finally getting back on your feet after everything you have gone through, really looking forward to the new content you create.
I missed the live show because of work so I am glad you recorded the show. I was able to IRC on my Kindle for all of two minutes before things got busy at work and had to leave the channel, l don't IRC much with my Kindle anyway cause of a lack of a keyboard. Security is always a good topic. I'm always looking to beef-up my Kindle and my openSuSe boxes.
We are bound to sacrifice complete privacy eventually. We need to protect the little privacy we have left choosing what to share carefully and what service to share it on.
What's sad is how much of the privacy we sacrifice is voluntary. It's one thing to walk into a store full of security cameras. It's another to share things on facebook you shouldn't be sharing. I don't do facebook. I only ever signed up for facebook so I could check out the facebook of a prospective roommate. I signed up under a fake name. I chose John Munch from Law & Order SVU :)
How about, we just get rid of social security numbers, and all use bitcoin?

Nice camera quality if it's working in HD! Besides, I would have liked more information about pricacy and protection (avoid tracking on websites, mail, smartphone - geeky stuff), I was a little bit disappointed by only mentioning this facebook game and face tracking.

We've defiantly have become more relied on technology more this last decade. And we've sacrificed a lot to do so, but the one thing I don't want to lose is my privacy.

Hi, since you asked for Google Hangout alternatives for streaming, did you consider using Twitch.tv (which is a streaming website which is afaik used mostly by Gamers)? Like your videos, keep 'em coming!

I think using automated password generators like "Keypass" and two factor authentications (which most banks and many sites already use) are way more secure than the security question. Am I right about it?

Nixie, ever thought of running your own XMPP, or SIP server for VOIP and hosting your lives on there? Google Hangouts suck and with all their servers and power the calls still cut out constantly.. -_-
XMPP and SIP run on Ubuntu Server flawlessly!!

So if you don't want to use facebook and no one uses Hangout (except me) then what is there to use where you can video call and have all the functionality of Hangout for free?
Just a suggestion but when doing a live show don't use Google+ Hangouts live, it always makes the audio sound like crap no matter how good your internet is.
I use Keepass and Keefox for sites I do serious business. Yet, for sites I casually visit but need an account to get something I want like a free eBook I simply use my dedicated junk email account and same password for all such sites. IMO a password manager is essential to keep track of all those different passwords. My brain is simply not good enough to store over 184 different passwords (in Keepass).

Forgot shutdown -P 10 enter. I setup a shortcut for that terminal command. Works on most Debian based distros.

I have never even wanted to create a Facebook account, and I'm glad that I never gave in. There's plenty of other ways to keep in contact with people without Facebook anyway.

The little bit of streaming I've done has been through hitbox.tv, mainly because I've read unfavorable things about twitch for what I wanted to do. Don't know if that would be an option for you. Enjoy your videos, take care.

So why was this video only about 1 hour long when you were talking about it being 2 hours in the beginning? Not that 1 hour isn't cool as well (I would hesitate to watch a longer pre-recorded video, or I would have to watch it in segments), but I wonder about the discrepancy.
Answered that in the video but it's okay.. just for the record. :P The hangout ends automatically, so if I schedule it for an hour I have to stop myself right at an hour or I get cut off. It's impossible, I say!
Nixie Pixel Oh, I see! Well, then could you please schedule it for 99 hours next time, and then just come to an end whenever you feel like it? Then it doesn't matter, whether it's only 30 minutes or 3 hours long... ;-)

Don't like Facebooks privacy issues, then don't use it. No one can really complain about a service that is free. Using their data centres and their bandwidth.

Even though I know how evil Facebook is, it's almost impossible for most people to leave. We've come to rely on it for so many things, to turn away from it forever is kind of scary in a way. I was intending to close my account about a month ago, but still it lives on (even if I don't use it as much as I used to).

About the "stripper name" from the beginning: They even make it so obvious, since people strip down their privacy, when they enter their security question answers there! And nobody notices, that "stripper name" can be seen as that exact meaning!
Also, the problem with lying on security questions is that you really need to write down the answers, and have them stored at a place where you find them when you need them, since otherwise, there would not be much use in it...especially since they are rarely needed and thus quickly forgotten.
That's for sure, but I think writing down answers isn't as much of a security no-no as password re-use is. ^.~
Nixie Pixel tbh, I reckon that is just not practical to rely on creating different passwords for every single site we stumble upon these days. Neither is using password managers for to 'secure' them you need a master password so the irony in there is quite obvious. I personally prefer to just assign different levels of required security for each website and then assign passwords of matching complexity, that way I can keep them on my memory. Not to mention that your video advising on replacing weird characters for simply longer passwords was most welcome to simplify my life as well. Thanks for that!
