Graham gets some of the best interviews around. It's so nice to see folks talking more about what's real than what their publicists and managers want them to say. I suppose there is some of that too, but it's just much more refreshing to watch than most "talk-shows" I see here in the USA. Thanks for posting this content!
I totally agree. All the guests chat and drink and are so relaxed and happy around Graham, their REAL SELVES appear. Loads of stars queue up to be on this show.
This is the only celeb-show I find genuinely entertaining and funny - and it must be all due to Graham: He manages to make everybody sitting on that couch feel at ease, and leaves the guests the time they need and want for their stories. While doing that, he consistently stays alert, friendly, and (highlights) sometimes switches to borderline (never crossing it) irreverent, which most guests find fresh, funny and often inspiring. Graham has THE recipe for doing it best, and in my mind, he’s the only one. Adorable stuff, with a lot of cult moments to cherish again and again (which I do whenever I need a picker-upper and some good laughs. Thanks!
Thank you. I’m from 🇨🇦, so wasn’t certain who they all were. By the way, we studied “Benny and the Jets” (by Sir Elton John) lyrics in Language Arts class in 1973 so so. Grade 6. I was 11 or 12.
Stephen has another great story about the Queen getting on a table and elbowing him for cake during Charles and Camilla's wedding. It's in the QI Stephen's anecdotes compilation
My favourite part was with Sir Elton John’s. I am a big fan since early on, I love his music, and his down to earth personality. I am not surprised he reached that far. I wish him well for the joy he has given us, all over the world.
Graham, thanks for this royal compilation. I've seen these clips so many times before and I still enjoy watching them. They always make me laugh and smile. I always think of Peter's Friends when I hear Stephen's story. .... PEACE to ALL.
I would have sat on the thrones as well. I used to be a bomb tech in the Army. We do bomb sweeps for the USSS. the Pope came to the US in the late 90's I and just about everyone sat on the Popes chair. It was the most checked furniture in the Stadium. We got to have an event on the Presidential yacht once. The Presidential quarters had a small rope keeping people out. We all laid on the bed and I sat on the Presidential toilet. There is such a compulsion to act out. We never grow up.
They should reboot the Pink Panther franchise with Sacha Baron Cohen as Clouseau and Jackie Chan as Cato, they're the only two who could honor Sellers and Burt Kwouk and do the characters proper justice.
I had no idea where Stephen Fry’s story was going, but for some reason was thinking the tea was a recent event. The Diana anecdote was a wonderful surprise. (It was kind of him to briefly explain to RDJ what Sandringham is - y’know, just in case!)
It’s actually just proper dining etiquette in formal situations to speaking in one direction and then flip to the other side after a certain time. Different places have indications of when you switch.
Stephen, I go to Norfolk too as I go birdwatching but mainly stay in Holt not Burnham Market ‘ Chelsea on Sea ‘ where you’ll stay, and I go birdwatching on Cley Marshes or to Blakeney point. Kate Middleton is often shown shopping in Holt soon after I’ve been there, so I always hope she hasn’t bought the trendy cushions or lampshades I’ve just bought for her house at Anmer Hall.
“Sir Ian, don’t forget you’re in Buckingham Palace” and “Oh no, not you two again” .... but why did the policeman say “Oh no, not you two again” when he could not have been there seeing them both sitting on the thrones and when it was only Sir Ian smoking the cigarette?
Wow. As a 🇨🇦ian, just freshly graduated from university, and The Queen is coming to dedicate some part of the university grounds. Of course, I had to attend. I lined up along her path and waited with my little disposable camera. Two little old ladies are on my right. It’s a corner. They are at the corner itself. So they have a long view. I have an immediate view. A wave of applause comes with her as nearby people are affected by the Royal presence. So you Know she is coming. I take a badly framed photo. She turns the corner! I try to take another photo. She is right there! She is TALKING to the old ladies. I try to take a photo. They give her flowers. I try to take a photo. She hands the flowers to a lady in waiting. I try to take a photo. She walks past me. And I realize I need to advance the film. I advance the film. I’m ready to take a photo. And about 20 people, her entourage, are in the way. I frantically cast about. 20 yards down the way is a rather fragile tree. I hurry to it. I climb it. And I aim my camera to the Queen’s hat. From above. From a distance. She is surrounded by her entourage. And I get the photo! A white blob in a crowd. This is what happens to a person in the Royal Presence.
He was born Irish but took British citizenship. Bob Geldof has an honorary knighthood but can't be called "Sir Bob" because he doesn't have British citizenship.
I can't believe they didn't include the clip of Jack Whitehall and Miranda Hart joking to Adele about having gone to the same schools as Kate Middleton! By far my favorite of these stories! (ruclips.net/video/SB-f4atBGFM/видео.html)
I think it's cause he's an Irish citizen (Republic of Ireland) and not a citizen of the United Kingdom though he resides there. I'm pretty sure MBEs, OBEs, CBEs, Damehoods and Knighthoods are all given to UK (and Commonwealth) citizens only.

I love it. So funny. Every time he "dances" while telling the Throne Room story, I laugh. ... PEACE.

Classic British Bobby, not phased if your a local skinhead drunk or an MBE holding celebrity. 🤣

The reason this show is so great, is because Graham lets his guests talk, without rushing them or talking over them, unlike many of our US chat shows.
Alcohol also with no censorship.
Let's not forget the alcohol.
Unlike Howard Stern, who pretty much interviews himself.

6:45 - 7:10 Sir Ian showcases some incredible miming talent. Brilliant to see the subtle result of decades of acting.
I've replayed that moment so many times, it's absolutely mesmerising
The sound the crowd makes for the Princess Diana moment gave me shivers. I miss her still. Love these & Graham so much! Love from Canada

I think because he’s Irish is what he meant? But I imagine he actually can get one because at this point he must have British citizenship.
Is this show still on? I never see new stuff.
