So we have ham, bechemel and Emmental croissants here in France...usually sold by a Traiteur or Boulangerie for lunch.
We (generally) don’t have chocolate croissants though, only pain au chocolat.

I think a lot of Americans just like to call pain au chocolat chocolate croissants because it's easier to say maybe...or less foreign sounding, I'm not sure what the logic is, but I think that's what they mean?

Just started watching this video and thought you might enjoy my experience with crescents…
I was born in Wisconsin, moved to Arizona at 13, Colorado around 20, California for my 27th year, and have lived in Costa Rica for the past 31 years (yes I’m 59!)… I never had a ham and cheese crescent until I was lived in Costa Rica at the age of 32 and was introduced to them for the 1st time at a French/German bakery down here! My personal opinion is take what French people say about food with a grain of salt! Although nice people they tend to be food snobbish! 😂😂😂

Fresh, plain with raspberry or strawberry jam spread on 'em... w/a big cup of Starbucks coffee. Yumm
A majority of grocery store croissants, if they're "made in store," come in frozen and ready to bake. Many restaurants do this as well, so it's not necessarily a bad thing. There is quite the range in quality of frozen products, so find what you like. You might end up figuring out that some sores are selling the same ones, just one may do an extra egg wash or go the extra steps of properly proofing them etc.

As a lover of croissants, these should not be called croissants lol, they need to be buttery flaky and crispy, not soft and caky
A real croissant is supposed to be golden, crispy on the outside and soft, buttery layers on the inside … croissant with chocolate is a chocolati ne or pain au chocolat and a croissant withs almond and almond cream is called an amandine… All are amazing…

I love everything about this video except the look of the croissants, they all look...sad. They look like the worst version of croissants that exists here (New Zealand), but we also have good ones here, hopefully some decent ones exist there somewhere too?

I’m a little tired of people gatekeeping how a food should be for you to like it. I agree with continuing making foods the traditional way, but I also agree that there is nothing wrong with making things a different way and enjoying them still. Like I feel like comparing fresh French croissants to a container of store bought ones in America isn’t the most fair because they are two different things. I like both for different reasons. I feel like there shouldn’t be rules to enjoy food, if it tastes good it tastes good 🫡
Some constructive criticism. Use better mics because it sounds like it’s a cheap/camera mic. And also, please be more centered. Chase has 2 ft of gap on his left side and girl has a couple inches of gap on right side

Do people normally heat up croissants?
They keep talking like that is the usual way to eat them and other than breakfast sandwiches, I’ve never had a warm croissant.
Also want to say, I too am team not-crunchy-croissant and I know that’s “wrong” but a super flakey outside is displeasing to me.
