I wanted to say, Japanese lolita fashion doesn’t take from the book. Actually come to find out it doesn’t come from the book 😭. It was just its own subculture with the same name
Interesting!! I think even if its only coincidental the themes of the style match Lolita's character and tumblr probably made that connection and the style progressed as such
@@lillyturmelthe style is based off Victorian dolls. It is literally about the sweetness of youth and girlhood and innocence, it is not meant to be sexual appealing in any way.
@@Painfuldreamer5813 are you talking about Lolita or Coquette? Because I think that current day Coquette is def meant to be sexually appealing.
@@lillyturmel Lolita, honestly the only reason I commented is because I really enjoy the style, and over the years I’ve seen so many creators in the community get nasty comments and criticism because of the name. It's been a problem for a long time and I guess seeing that misconception is still alive in well in 2024 after loving this aesthetic since I was in middle school (2012) just triggers me a little. Sorry if I came off as harsh.
Noo no worries! I love debating and talking about fashion, but I totally get it. Sometimes stereotypes like that can ruin it for other people. I say do coquette however you want!! There's no rules in fashion :)@@Painfuldreamer5813
Ur body language is so fearless and confident. And Ur fashion sense is spot on. .😘😘😘
I don’t think I’d associate lana del Rey with the coquette style I think I’d associate her more with the old money aesthetic or any other one in my opinion thiugh
Thank you I get a bow pink boe for my hair thank you for explaining
Ilysm!! I never found someone talking about this and i find it easy to understand since english is not my first language and well.. my country isn’t really into those aesthetics that you talk about, so thank you sm and sorry if i did a few mistakes in writing..
You are pretty ❤
I'm here so I can expand my knowledge of clothing for drawing! Learning words like "coquette" is good for me since I have no interest in fashion otherwise. Thank you!
Amazing
Can you pls tell me where did you get the white cardigan?? I love it so much, and ty so much for making these vidios🤍
brandy melville :)
hii where did you get the white shirt your wearing in the beginning of the video its so cute
❤
Woah woah woah….. some of this is true but you are also spreading some big misinformation . The Lolita style has nothing to do with the book and also none of these fashions have anything to do with the book. I would recommend redoing this video after doing some more research.

@@lillyturmel I will tysm
I'm so sorry but I have to point out that your pronunciation is wrong and means...something else....much less cute....and rather innapropriate. I figured you might want to know. The o is important.
Uh. What-
