Ahh this makes me so happy! As a mix of Serbian and Greek this makes me verrry happy! Thank you for spreading the love of our cuisine!!
Same :) my mom is serbian and my dad is greek 🤗
It's very popular in Egypt too
Love greece 🇪🇬❤🇬🇷
popular in egypt because it’s egyptian honey greeks took it from us. no hate or anything but it’s an egyptian dish
@@NoorLevyrroniNicolaos Tselementes made this dish in 1920. See Wikipedia copycat.
This dish is at least 800 years old in the arab before the Greeks even knew it.
I’ve definitely missed these …
I made this from my imagination once not knowing it’s a legit dish! What are the chances😂 was delicious though:)
I love moussaka
Great series. It's nice to see all these new dishes and also I found it funny that here in the US our national dish is a hamburger. Just a hamburger lol. I thought it would be steak and fries.
Thank you for making this greek dish is one of my fav !
Mousaka isnt 100% greek, but we have adopted it and made it our own. Thank you for the video!
It's egyptien
I appreciate your honesty, almost every dish in the world has taken something from its neighbors. Most dishes today have potatoes or tomatoes in them and those only came recently from the American contienant
It depends where you live. Like with baklava. In Turkey says it’s theirs while Greece says it’s ours. I don’t really care though.
It's originally Somalian
As a Greek the great amount of olive oil you put makes me proud.
Wow! Love the look of this.
Absolutely beautiful 😍
Looks
Absolutely 💯 💯 💯 💯
Delicious 💯 👌 👍 😋
Love Mousakah ❤
The word musakka (musaqqa) is literally Arabic and means something like "watered". It is an Ottoman food (Turkish) and is also made in middle east and balkan counties.
greek stole everything ahaha
I am from the balkans, I simply love moussaka
@@ahmetfarukaltundal6763 well considering we lived in the same empire with them for years, I wouldn't call it "stealing", it's more of a culture mix.

Pozdrav😢😍😛😜😚💜💛💚💖💙❤💗
Mosakka is Egyptian, it comes from the Arabic word مسقعه which means "eaten cold".
Clearly being warmed here
And it's just not true what he says
The Turkish variant musaka is without the bechamel sauce but eggplant in tomato sauce
The Greek variant moussaka like shown here originates from the 1920 invented dish by Nikolaus tselementes
Different variant
There is also an Egyptian variant but hey all bloody delicious
Can you please do South Africa 🇿🇦❤
Awesome
Thanks!!
It's an Egyptian dish 🇪🇬 with all respect 🤍
Yum the best
there’s nothing better than a good mousakka🤤 i’m from
cyprus & my mum will make this omce every full moon but when she does i am so grateful🥰
Εγώ είμαι Ελληνίδα , αλλά μετακόμισα στην Κύπρο 🤝 #μουσακά4ever 😂
Obagine is one of my least favourite vegatables.
But in that dish, that looks like the ultimate comfort food Allahhummahbarik 😋.
αχ κανείς δεν γλυτώνει απο τον Ακη 😂
Ρε elinara
Iam egyptien and this food is egyptien
@@user-pu9dr9mg6f your stupid (I think idk I think it's from Greece and it is from Greece I hope)
@@user-pu9dr9mg6f This food is Greek, made by Chef Nikolaos Tselementes.
@@user-pu9dr9mg6fYou good ?
I recommend svíčková sauce with dumplings or roasted duck with cabbage and dumplings.
😂
So basically it's a lasagna meets Ratatouille.
It's 'Musakka' and it's a Turkish food
The turkish version is eaten with rice and has no bechamel sauce.
Im turkish but honestly everything with bechamel is better
@@kiboma4209 Yeah, that's a tought too.
🌹
I wanna make this but there’s so many steps and I’m very lazy and it’s cold outside
I would love to see you make an Indian version of this! There's no denying Indian flavors will make this dish explode with flavor!
Mousakka is not Greek! It’s from the Levant!
Qatar 🇶🇦🤭
I thought you said grits as in the side breakfast dish. I have terrible hearing, why would they have grits in Greece.
I'm on a mission to marry her

@@Mr.Wisper yes lol caught in 4 k 😂
Not moussaka its mousakás
Haha yeah like turkish cofee called greek cofee baklava and another things greek people love to steel the food :)))
@@mehmetkaba5568 its not like that because all of the Balkans have same recipes because of ottoman empire
@@mehmetkaba5568 it's μουσακάς. He put the" `" for you to notice how it is pronounced.
Pls give measurements
Crying in Greek , I hate that no one makes it right …. Like Parmesan ???? USE HALLOUMI and why add basil ? Only seasonings to be used is salt , pepper , cinnamon and parsley and that sauce you made is nothing like how your supposed to . 2 eggs to 1 pint of milk 3 tablespoons cornflour per 2 eggs .
Exactly.. moussaka isn't lasagna
Έλα δεν πειράζει η προσπάθεια μετράει !
Noted. ✍🏽
I first tried Moussaka at a friends house (hes from Cyprus) and there was mint in it (which i loved) Is that authentic?
I feel your pain lol
It’s Greek- Greek is best 👍🏻😋
🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷😋
but it is Egyptian even it called arabic word
Actually the national dish is a bean soup
It been soup bruh
ITS LITERALLY TURKISH FOOD
In Germany We say: It's Not amk
Only it's not moussaka. According to Greece school books It's fasolada (φασολαδα)aka bean soup. Gyros is the most popular but still....it's not the national dish
Do from Brazil
I will do!! Whats the national dish
@@SeemaPankhania1 there are many traditional foods, but the ingredients are hard to find, we have feijoada, moqueca, acarajé, but I recommend moqueca
Turkey
It's not mOUsaka its mousakA
Good work. But actually, it’s an arabic dish, not a greece dish at all, it’s called "مصقعة"
Which is an arabic word originally.
Yes your right the name is Arabic but it’s Turkish food from the Ottoman Empire
It's an Ottoman dish. Ottoman Turks used Arabic alphabet and a lot of Arabic words, so it's no surprise that the name is Arabic.
@@renarey238 u guys are right
🤦♀️😂
Yh its Egyptian lol
You are pronouncing it wrong, just saying
Are you just going to do all the same dishes as the other dude but with less clothes on
Its not Greek! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
