@@SB-th8uc absolutely. Player welfare should be paramount. I've always found it counterproductive having South African teams play one or two matches away in Europe only to go back for 2 weeks and travel again. Which of course will be a long, gruelling tour, but then you're at home for the rest of the season. It's something that World Rugby, URC need to look at. It seems logical to me anyway
damn the defense was poor first half, Marvin Orrie tackling a ghost? We will only learn and get Stronger now to build greater squad depth for all competitions and will learn travelling to Europe
Those English bums as they have been called repeatedly in recent times did ok today, maybe just maybe they play in a very competitive league, none as good as the best French teams and Leinster at the moment however they don't have 9 million plus to spend on their playing squad and they don't have all their best players concentrated in a few teams which makes a big difference, tremendous effort Exeter and well done the English, be proud.
Good for Exeter you showed through stormers a rugby lesson today, but if you want to complain about player salaries I don't think you have anything to stand on as a bunch of your players are earning upwards of 5-6 million pounds per year and that's basically more than the Bull's whole squad salary across URC and champions cup
From a pure sport's point of view the addition of the South African franchises cannot be criticized, now from a players safety and a supporters viewpoint, they have been clearly left out of the equation. I am thinking about our French internationals who have near zero resting and recuperation time, when they get injured we lose them for 6 to 12 months, quite frankly it is hardly the way to go. For players to have to travel half the planet when they already play 2 to 3 games a week in the Top 14 is stupendous. Racing and Bordeaux got smashed in South Africa so clearly we are not seeing the best teams on both sides of the Equator. Besides, what supporter could afford the time and money to travel to the other side of the equator week in week out? Clearly this deal has been made solely between the ERC and the South African union to milk the cash cow and get more TV rights. Once again rugby is cutting itself from its root and that cannot be good. The European Cup was successful as it was, sure new exciting franchises gave it a bit of refresh but again the ERC have cut European supporters out of their game. For the Saffa supporters it makes no difference because they had to travel to New Zealand and Australia anyway so their Union does not care, no loss there. The ERC however should have known better. Too much greed in rugby right now and I am pretty sure we all want to see the best teams with their best players in shape.

Have the South African teams tour Europe for 8 weeks and then have the next 8 weeks of fixtures at home in the URC with the Irish, Welsh, Scots and Italians travelling down? It would certainly reduce travel fatigue, emissions etc. If we're serious about climate change too seriously. Seems to be a lot of obvious solutions that no one is thinking of
@@stevenh7842 I think there is merit in that approach. If it means South African sides who travel to Europe are fresher, and vice versa, then it's a good thing to think about. Some of those Stormers players looked tired today (but Exeter were excellent).
@@SB-th8uc absolutely. Player welfare should be paramount. I've always found it counterproductive having South African teams play one or two matches away in Europe only to go back for 2 weeks and travel again. Surely there's a better way of managing that. 2-3 months is a long time to be away from home, but surely it's the best way, make one big trip, play a series of matches. Which of course will be a long, gruelling tour, but then you're at home for the rest of the season. It's something that World Rugby, URC need to look at. It seems logical to me anyway
At money time, experience count.
damn the defense was poor first half, Marvin Orrie tackling a ghost? We will only learn and get Stronger now to build greater squad depth for all competitions and will learn travelling to Europe
Stormer look out of steam, they let the other team look so good played really shocking maybe good rest will do then good will see.
The North Remembers!
When didn’t we remember, is a better question.

Too much travelling? Poor Stormer show. Expected more.
Must be the ref's fault 😂

Stormers were rubbish. Whats happened?. They have some great players
These South African sides think it's an easy journey to conquer Europe
Nahhh bruh😂
Wrong thought
Worst Stormers defence in many years
So let guess, since leaving the Super Rugby, the South African clubs still hasn't improve or competitive in this tournament.?. 🤔
We had 2 teams in the top 8. First time competing so there is allot of other teams that did not make it. Ireland have 1 and they have good teams.
Well Doné chiefs sorry Stormers😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Doné? Can you not spell?
Le niveau africain me déçoit
How many world cups do you have

Did Exeter send flowers and champagne to Mr Brace and his Nice TMO for having red carded Zac Mercer for nothing last week as the red has been finally cancelled...!?

well deserved exeter. i'm grateful we get to compete in this competition, it really is such a treat to see our teams measured against the best in the world

Arriving in the country on the Wednesday before the game just isn't on, esp not for a QF match. Too much rugby being played across diff competitions.

Few very bad calls going against Stormers but Exeter was still the better team
Do t agree to this format keep it as it was

You do realize that that most of the best players play in Europe and Japan right???
