- In 1997, Charles S. Middleton and Son represented the former owners in the sale of the Rancho de Dias Alegres Ranch to Patrick and Lisa Swayze. Now, 23 years later, Lisa Swayze has made the difficult decision to sell this pristine property so that it can now be used and enjoyed by the new ownership. Lisa and Patrick spent many wonderful days enjoying their life together on this fabulous mountain ranch, but the time has come to say goodbye to this major part of Lisa’s life, leaving her with great memories of the past.
We are excited to represent Lisa in the sale of Rancho de Dias Alegres, a 7,261 deeded acre property located in the beautiful Gallinas River Drainage of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains west of Las Vegas, New Mexico. With the rugged, shear rock face of Hermit's Peak towering over the ranch, spectacular views of the high mountains and the Peak are prominent. Sunrises and sunsets are unsurpassed. This extraordinarily scenic and nicely improved property features over a mile of both sides of the Gallinas River frontage, including historic water rights from the river. Other features include a lake reflecting surrounding cottonwood trees, rolling forested land with intermingled green meadows, along with southern foothills covered in piñon, juniper, gamble oak, fir, and ponderosa pine dominating the landscape.

I am so proud to say my beloved mother and our people are from this most breathtaking, beautiful city of Las Vegas, New Mexico.. I was so excited to have gone to visit a couple of times and was taken back of its beauty the moment we arrived..my aunt and uncle had a really nice cabin up in the mountains and omg, that was something I will cherish until the day I die.. especially going to see Herman's Peak..now THAT was incredibly beautiful as well..whoever, if any by now in 2024 have been so blessed to buy this property, I am sure you have found your own glorious heaven on earth home..lucky you..if I had a way, a last wish, I would give anything to have my ashes spread in the mountains of my homeland of Las Vegas, New Mexico..🙏🕊️❤️
On January 9, 2009, Swayze was hospitalized with pneumonia. The pneumonia was said to be a complication of chemotherapy for his cancer.[43] On January 16, he was released from the hospital to rest at home with his wife.[44] On April 19, 2009, doctors informed Swayze that the cancer had again metastasized to his liver.[45] Swayze had been a heavy smoker for 40 years, and he once admitted to smoking 60 cigarettes a day.[46] He stated that his chain smoking probably "had something to do with" the development of his disease. He continued to smoke cigarettes while undergoing treatment for cancer.[47]
Swayze died, with family at his side, on September 14, 2009, at the age of 57. Swayze's death occurred 20 months after his cancer diagnosis.[48][49][50] Swayze's publicist confirmed to CNN that he had died of pancreatic cancer.[51] His body was cremated, and his ashes were scattered over his New Mexico ranch.

Gorgeous landscape but WTF were they thinking with the design and siting of the home? It's completely lacking in ANY sense of good design/location, etc. ALL of that land and they decide to just throw up something like this, with the concrete slab out front for parking??? Hideous.
A beautiful home,a beautiful ranch,but I could not live there,for me I would be seeing Patrick swayze every where,at night I would imagine his ghost there,stupid and not logical I know,but it has to many ghosts there!!!!😳🇬🇧

Patrick is not going to haunt anyone good grief 🙄 the man was good inside and out and a true Christian..if allowed by God, his spirit may visit his beloved land now and again, but I truly believe he is with his creator, our Father..rest easy Patrick..🕊️🙏❤️🙏
