It all makes sense in this scene why Chloe's behavior was so weird in the first five episodes, how she wouldn't be part with the necklace, insisted going to hell with lucifer, and why she picked a fight with maze. And when i realized it this scene hit harder.
Bro this scene made my cry so hard. Lucifer was actually the first series that I actually enjoyed on Netflix and I would remember watching s2 when it came out and idk why this scene just hurt me because dan was definitely one of my favorite characters in the show.
I'd have loved it if they held this out til the end, but change it just a tad. Lucifer returns the dagger to heaven at some point, rendering the necklace useless. Lucifer gives Trixie the necklace, telling her he has a gift for her, but also says he'll be right back, giving them a moment (which this season was sorely lacking -- Trixie and Lucifer one-on-one interaction). He sits Trixie and Chloe on the couch and asks both of them to hold onto the necklace for a few moments until he returns, which they do. He retrieves the dagger, goes back to the house, and telling them to please make sure they don't let go of the necklace at any time... but he has a surprise for them -- leading Dan in. This way, it lets her see her dad and say goodbye properly while spending some time with her and Chloe as they both hold on. Trixie learns about who Lucifer really is, sees how supportive her family is of him and what happens. Trixie and Dan have their heart to heart face to face, so Dan gets his pass to heaven, thanks to not only Trixie, but also Lucifer... who keeps his promise to Dan. He then gives the blade to Dan who takes it back to heaven, knowing full well he trusts him with it. Dan thanks Lucifer, who offers to take him up personally, revealing his wings to Trixie. But that's just me. The lack of Trixie interaction made the season feel incomplete. Seeing Dan trapped in the one guy's body would have been better if he kicks his own ass to try to get out, and then just walks out after beating him to a pulp would have been great.
When I lost my parents in my mid 20s, I didn't know just how much it would impact me. I'm 40 now and the fear of loss, the pain of being alone is still at time overwhelming. There is not a day that goes by where I wish I could go back in time and somehow prepare my younger self for that loss. Also tell myself that I was not a failure. I didn't have a good relationship with my dad. In fact, I loathed him for neglecting me and my mom and drinking too much. I kept it all in instead. I close off. I hated my mom for staying with him. The cruel irony is that that fear and panic about staying behind and being alone has kept me from having a romantic relationship of my own. It's at times quite overpowering
That doesn't give me hope.. I'm in my later 20s. Lost my father and my daughter in the same week. Two different incidents. Idk how to function right. I hope you recover one day. Peace be with you.

Dan is intangible on the mortal plane. Lucifer himself couldn't touch him, let alone hand him anything.
