Thank you for your knowledge!
I have improved a lot of my own efforts into making earth shattering ,rock solid ,electronic music.
You have a good solid grip on how to express and teach the subject!
Such a great concept! Thank you so much for this video!
Julien, you are one of the only producers who has the kindness to connect the professional world of production to us, the less professional community. Thank you)

@Froyo B all you need is live is really really good
ok.. he did a simple cute explanation of basics.. but what u said is so not true..
Even the master himself, Richie Hawtin, has some very good and rly pro stuff on youtube.. and not only him.. there is a bunch of techno (or any genre really) producers nowdays that put info online..
[eg check the Point Blank Music School videos]
@cheggers! please do
Dude just slapped out a banger like it was nothing. well done!
Man, this video is awesome. Thanks for sharing all this knowledge with such simplicity. KEEP IT UP
The groove got crazy as soon as he added that second perc

Great Stuff. Could you maybe do a tutorial oh how you made that kick, that is what i'm struggling the most right now with my productions. Keep up the good work.

Mutual aid.
how can someone not like this video?
That kick is hard af
Great stuff
Can you provide a link to the classic breakdown
this song is fuckibg crazy
Top!
Wow!!!
Maybe you’ll try to make a video about how you work with references? I have a problem with this)
Procrastination: You'll never make a techno banger in sub 20 mins!
Julien Earle:
cool guy, number 1. that's you fella!
#1 is pretty dang important. :)
cool videos!
Hey Julien. You quickly went over the kick, but would love to know the breakdown of creating that techno rumble. Do you have a video link for that??
7:28 It sounds just like one of the main sounds in Autechre's Rotar!
Chipum chip pum pum chip cip puchip
Hahahha you make it look so easy 😂😂😂
you gave an example with Afterlife, and then said that that you need to make the track hit as hard as possible :D
Great video, just disagree on the fact that all techno track have to be banger and hit as hard as possible, however it's true that you need a minimum of punch and an overall loudness similar as other songs.
Techno for him is big hard stupid kick ,arps and melodies ... is it a complexity ????
You both do great, live your tutorials and those juicy freeracks aynil!
Julien please man i need help understanding kick and hi hats groove in tech house and sometimes techno how can i compress in fl studio in order to get that pump sound please try to give me details about what each thing does
Ps: i think its all about the mixing which i'm lacking
Music by numbers
You are a fucking geniussss
nice tutoríal
POLYRHYTHMS BABYYYYYYYYYYY
Hi Julien, this video is amazing! However, I just wonder why you tend to put Drum Buss on everything? Thank you so much
boosting the transients usually gives good results for dance music, adds more punch to the start of the sound so it stands out more
>nice tutorial mann
Any advice on that rhythmic synth thats really short he uses? I'm using FL and cant work it out
woody rolph sytrus is an fm synth like operator
My only problem is that I never know which note I should use
Can you make Adriatque - craft please?
I have one question...how do you get the operator or wavetable to make a sound, because i just started using ableton and i cant figure out how to do it:/
highlight a part, rightclick, create midi track, double click the bar above it, draw in notes
heyy any option for the drum buzz on ableton 9... i can´t upgrade to 10 :(
Saturation + Overdrive + Glue Compressor will get you there
@@TJLawton thanks! so basically what i´ve always done , can´t belive drum buzz does all that together tho
What about a bassline?
Love the video. Would like to see more
FuZZbaLLbee In this instance the kick leaves no room for bass, I think. The kick has lot of bass. You can do it, but you need a ‘weaker’ kick’ then.
@@kriskjr884 this is what ive been wondering about. If I have a rumble kick there's really no need for a bassline right? Whereas if I have just a kick it feels like a bassline or rolling bass fits better
What software do you use and how much would it set you back buying it online?
Maybe you've figured it out already, but he is using an DAW Ableton Suite
@@dansky-dj7941 Is it expensive to buy for PC? Or do they have lisences for monthly fee?
@@jmp01a24 hmm I'm not sure about the monthly fees what do you mean by that, but if you havent purchased any DAW from ableton the price for the SUITE is $749. I was actually able to purchase it on monthly payments.
@@dansky-dj7941 Was thinking about the Adobe model where you just pay monthly and download for free. But its quite expensive software if not used comercially.
This guy is 'Extraterrestrial'
Excuse me,What software is this?
人肉叉燒包 ableton live
I love your videos but you really need to work on audio for voiceovers. you need a pop filter on that mic bad.
its out of sync as well =(
I thought of the same thing. Pop filter is a must have.
What scales do you use guys for techno?
Whatever works, sometimes not even a scale
@@voormanmusic yup
I always like the feeling of Amin a lot (not just cause its easy and all white keys) and Eb minor. Fmin is also great. In truth all keys are great in their own way I suppose, I just prefer those :) go with what feels right for the track!
Julien, I was wondering where you're from and if you play shows? One day I hope I can meet you and pick your brain a little.
hhhhhhhhhhhi Julien
was there a separate tutorial for the techno rumble in this vid as well? :)
just use kikzilla vst if u are lazy
@@soundtorial4567 haha thx!
