I’m 46 now and whenever I play the Faydz mixes I’m sat in a puddle of tears and snot within 20 mins. The memories The simplicity of life The brothers and sisters all bouncing around as one. I’m a Manchester lad so it was Hippodrome, Hacienda, Paradise Factory, Sankeys, Academy, Manc Uni Alien nights.......bonds were made by everyone who raised their hands 89-94 I love u all x

For any historians, this mix is a perfect replication of what you would hear at a rave in early 1991 (although the scratching back then might not have been so spot on)
91 has to be one of my favourite rave years, tunes were awesome 👌

When I first went to a rave back in 89 it just blew me away lol 😂
This makes my heart melt....a time when life was just about everyone having fun and enjoying each others company and joy of music..... 😔. It keeps me smiling and sane and maybe that's all that matters

@mikemcmahom1970 yes ..I think i went to this one and another at forrest hill..I went to peasdown and chipping sodbury all the same year1991..was lucky ..my mate had a bus ..bit like an american school bus but much shorter wheel base.He knew the pepole involved ..so new where they all were before the party started...great summer..privelidged to have been there😃😃😃

The summer of 91,was absolutely mental,we had the fear teachers putting on do's all over the south east,the best was the Alton acid pit,a small dell next to lasham airfield,very happy hardcore memories.

@@ChrisMeerkat There were some naughty boys in Blackbird Leys back then😂😂🤣. 1990-1992 were the best 3 years of my life bruv, then Torpedo Town got fucked up, and the CJA was brought in, at the exact same time the ecstasy went shit and the country was flooded with cheap, strong heroin. I'm sure it was just a coincidence though 🙄. I still go to free parties, the last one was Scummertek/Scummerset , in the city I live now, Bath, (Bristol born) in July 2020, multi-rigs, about 4 or 5,000 people, it was great, when the lock down bollocks is finished, we'll be taking our rig out again and have a huge free party. Well, you know when you get a huge flash back, and think 'HOLY SHIT'... 44:44 ... I used to love this track and haven't heard it for nearly 30 years, don't even know what its called, but the power of music is incredible for stirring up memories and emotion.... WOW. Thank you Mr Faydz, you've made a middle aged man want to go and stand in a field and go mental. ( I ain't gonna do it ... but its the thought that counts.)

Yep, I lead a convoy of cars into Cassington (I had no idea where I was going) but we stopped and let the music guide us in! Castlemorton and Lechlade were two others which spring to mind in 91 and 92. Those massive free raves with all the small sound systems pumping out of the back of vans with a cardboard dance floor in front are never to be repeated - unfortunately. They don't know what they missed! Now peopke who go out to venues don't even get nutted because everyone's got a camera and are online; no one wants to be the gurned up star of their own meme, trending across the net! BAck then, we couldn't give a toss and thankfully didn't have to.

I was there in the 90,s following spiral tribes and all the free raves around stroud, Oxford and best ever Castlemorton in the malvern hills. Ye luv it lad ur ace!!
yeah there were some bangers in in and around Stroud. Lyneham airfield (sp?).
Lovely to hear this and to know that the Old Pits was used for something good, given its dark past, dancers would have been blissfully unaware of the bad stuff that happened here over the years!

This was the year i got into this scene at a rave tent at the back of Glastonbury Festival think it was called the sugar lump ,people dancing on upturned oil drums for 14 hours solid happy days.Thanks for your efforts i just subbed
ha! yeah it was called 'the sugar lump' . they were a soundsystem - i think i may have even been/ done the same thing there in 90 ?
