Hi Mark. I recently bought a trailer with a bundutec rooftop tent and I accidentally broke 2 ropes. I watched your video on how to fix it but I need more details on how to do it step by step. Also how do I open the tent manually as the winch does not lift the tent at all. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Is there any other rope other than Dyneema I can use.

Hi Mark we would like to see how you adjust the limiting switch, so the tent closes properly when you have the bedding in it. I see there’s two one where the winch is and one on the arm. Ps we have limited bedding inside the tent and we make sure it’s as flat a possible when closing the tent. We also make sure nothing is obstructing the arms eg the pillows, which are positioned to the sides away from the arms.

the limit switch that turns off the motor on the way down is the one above the winch strap.
when the strap goes slack - it is because the roof is resting on your gear inside... you cannot 'adjust' the limit switch to compress your bedding. Ensure pillows and bulky items are left in the centre as th arms can then reach their lowest on their arc downward. also remember to always leave windows open when opening and closing the tent!
      cheers - Mark

Use a string so tough that it is almost impossible to fail?

No - Best way not to break a string is just remember to undo your latches... If you added stronger string your just gonna break something else. The string is 3mm Dyneema anyway - its really strong.. About 450Kg breaking strain per string.
