I don't quite understand everyone's obsession with"10gb, no, 12gb is minimum in *current year*".
4gb cards are JUST NOW starting to become a problem for MOST gaming solutions, unless you're a part of the higher end of the spectrum doing 4k gaming, and if you are, the amount of vram on a 60 series GPU is irrelevant because it's not for you in the first place. 8GB on the 4060 is going to be PLENTY for the next few years to come, playing in 1080p and in some cases, even 1440.
Content creators use this for clicks and content, but the problem is the majority of their viewers accept it as gospel without actually knowing how the technology works.

I know it’s popular to hate on Nvidia and complain about prices. But considering how the 1060 was the most popular gaming card for years sitting at $250, the 4060 for $299 is reasonable. Cheaper is always better of course. But it’s not unreasonable.

@@infinite7633 No idea what Elon Musk has to do with anything. I’m not rich. If you have a job and manage your finances, $299 is achievable with saving. I say “only $299” because when you consider how awful all the 40 series cards have been on pricing, this could have been worse. Yeah if you can buy a 6700 for that price, go for it. But since everyone has that mentality lately, the demand has gone up. The AMD cards are climbing in price. Additionally, not everyone wants an AMD card.

8 is enough the card is not for guys who want the best card its for guys who want a new card from a gtx 1060 or gtx 960 or r9 290 or rx480 or guys with gtx 1660 and so on... its a pure 1080p card for mid/high settings and in some games ultra settings so 8gb is good but the price isnt good at germany!
btw. the gtx1660super can too upscale so my card needs in forza only 5-5,5gb with fsr and resharpen and at high 120-140fps what wie want more? and the 4060 can do it better bcz. 8gb instead of mine 6gb :D

    4070 16gb
    4080 20gb
    4090 24gb
This should be the specs across the board for laptop and desktop cards any less is insane and bottlenecks the cards they could perform far better with a little more vram in newer games vram costs nothing in the grand scheme and you should be able to max games out on every card at different resolutions
    4050 1080p max
    4060 1080 to 1440p max
    4070 1440p to 4K max
