True, but maturity also matters, and Thomas just showed his maturity level and has now kept himself off any NFL teams. He got paid a couple of years ago, and let it get to his head. @ I’m not dense I’m just watching a football play gone wrong. Let’s talk about the db that illegally killed Olave. Easy to blame Carr tho I guess when I’ve seen this happen to Olave multiple times now with multiple qbs. Who has Carr set up? Name me some more receivers since Carr is known to do this. Lmao blaming a qb for trying to move the ball instead of the db that smoked him with an illegal hit. Carr always has to be the scapegoat for every little thing with this team when he wasn’t even at fault for olave getting hurt. Unless you’re a saints fan, respectfully there’s nothing you can tell me to believe that Carr is at fault, nothing. MT should learn to get off Twitter and play football for once, nobody takes him serious because he’s a clown
Right now Mike is speaking the truth but I don't think I'll ever be cool w him for throwing Drew under the bus multiple times and then quitting on the team when we still had a shot at another ring
Two things can be true at the same time. Michael Thomas can appear to be the "bitter ex" of a former teammate. AND Derek Carr can have a pretty well documented record of making poor decisions on throws and repeatedly putting his receivers in danger recklessly.
If you are blaming Carr for that injury… don’t you have to blame Mahomes for taking Rice out for the season? Grow up MT. Your time came and went and we hardly saw you, literally, because he spent more times on the sidelines injured than on the field playing. I don’t blame Carr or Mahomes. It’s football, injuries are going to happen. As long as it’s not a malicious play, there is no blame.
I forgot Michael Thomas played in NOLA. So Carr is the only QB who throws that pass?! Was the Carr the one who hit a defenseless WR? It’s football it’s part of the game.
It hasn't always been a part of the game. I have been watching football since I was a kid in the 1980's. Before there was a penalty for hitting a defenseless receiver or helmet to helmet hits, there were headhunting DB's that would blowup receivers with direct shots to the head to lay out the guy and try to force them to drop the ball. (The 1970's were particularly bad for this). The really good QB's would show restraint and not throw to receivers that were going to get blown up like that. The QB was partly responsible for protecting the safety of the receiver and receivers trusted that the really good QB's would not put them in harm's way. Offensive coordinators and the receivers themselves were also partly responsible. In the last 25-30 years, the responsibility to protect receivers has been shifted to the defenders due to rule changes so QB's will throw to receivers in all kinds of traffic and in situations where the receiver could get blown up. The theory is that the defender won't hit the receiver in an unsafe way to avoid drawing a penalty. I blame the way offenses are run today as much as I would blame the QB because the coordinators are also relying on the rules to protect player safety and use the rules to take advantage of the defense.
He should be wearing that special helmet. Carr wouldn't ordinarily throw into triple coverage, but that team is desperate and Olave is the only viable target. Bad mix.
@@ericbutler739 it's called a guardian cap and it literally does no help for a situation like that lmfao 10 year vet should know not to throw a hospital ball. Carr needs to be fired and then he need to retire and be thankful he got paid as much as he has in in embarrassing career.
@@donworryboudat Thanks for clarifying, I couldn't recall the name, but he should wear it regardless given his history. I wasn't defending Carr, just noted that this year he wasnt throwing to covered receivers, just looking for easy 1 on 1s or tossing it up for Shaheed. This was a very bad decision to throw at all and bad ball placement as well. Just really bad all around and I agree Carr is way overpaid and not a great QB, but has the good luck of having great receivers to make him look better his whole career and might have just ended one. Peace.
Mike was just speaking facts. Just because no one else is open doesn’t mean you force a ball to a receiver & lead him into a defender. It’s a weak for a QB to do that.
“he just misses his throw” Orlovsky needs to get up off his knees. Know your PERSONNEL. throwing it deep and high in the middle to olave (who weighs the same amount as a piece of paper) on a post between two defenders. That was not a “missed throw” it was a literal… LITERAL hospital ball
lol why would Carr still be in the league this long if he couldn’t read defenses?? I swear yall just say whatever. It was just bad ball placement nothing more nothing less. It’s football it happens people get hurt. If you can’t deal with it go play tennis.
@ no quarterbacks in this era can read defenses. They don’t have to because a bad read in this era of football results in 15 free yards, an automatic first down, and the defender that made the hit being halfway to an ejection. Understand I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt by saying he can’t read defenses because if he read that safety driving and threw that ball anyway then Michael Thomas is definitely right
No way they sitting here acting like that wasn’t a hospital ball it’s an inaccurate ball in the middle of the field Derek has gotten multiple receivers killed and keeps getting olave killed
Exactly!!!!! it’s Carr’s second time this season throwing a ball that put Olave on a stretcher. Both times he threw to him in a defenseless position
Everyone already commented on Michael Thomas response, but I just want to say I know Derek Carr didn't mean it, but that was a hospital ball if I've ever seen one. He threw it across the middle of the field with a defender running full force straight at Chris Olave. There was no way there was not gonna be a huge collision with where he put the ball and the angle that the defender was coming at. This is why that shouldn't have been unnecessary roughness because neither Chris Olave nor the defender would have been able to stop their momentum no matter what they did.
Dude man Brees made that guys career... He could never separate, was never explosive, had solid hands and brees was arguably the most accurate QB ever that threw him open.

QB’s normally throw the ball to spots where receivers can protect themselves. But since the NFL implemented targeting and the defenseless WR, they throw the ball wherever .
It's pretty obvious.... Michael Thomas blames Derek Carr on why he's not in the NFL right now. And when Chris Olave got hurt, it struck a nerve for Michael. It was wrong to go on a rant on social media, but Derek Carr threw a hospital ball, which Brady says that's something QBs should never do, because now it'll be tough for his teammates to trust him as a QB or leader.

The guy got hit so hard he peed on himself…that DEFINITELY was a hospital ball…Carrs inaccuracy MADE it a hospital ball.. had he thrown it lower and directly to Olave he would’ve gotten rocked but not to this extent
Andre Johnson’s my favorite WR ever. He’d never do something like that to a teammate. Played with Derek’s older brother and even though there wasn’t success, never a negative moment. Thomas would’ve hated on lineman

Thomas is a typical THUG

How about blaming the line for not protecting Derek?
Na that’s a bad pass my boy

He’s not a diva tbh you’re not a saints fan if you haven’t had the realization. Mt deserves his spot on the team. Minus Carr.
I’m a saints fan and I care what he has to say. He’s been right about Carr.
Right now Mike is speaking the truth but I don't think I'll ever be cool w him for throwing Drew under the bus multiple times and then quitting on the team when we still had a shot at another ring

Get Carr tf outta here
He'll be benched later in the season when there are a few games left. He's not getting his chance to beat his former team week 17 at Raiders.

Two things can be true at the same time.
Michael Thomas can appear to be the "bitter ex" of a former teammate.
AND
Derek Carr can have a pretty well documented record of making poor decisions on throws and repeatedly putting his receivers in danger recklessly.
Most people do blaim Mahomes. Possibly the worst play in nfl history.
They did blame Mahomes. You didnt do anything with this comment
At the end of the day, the QB should be at blame for putting his WR in harms way. It's not that hard to hold a QB accountable.
Micheal Thomas hasn't done anything in the last 4 years he needs to shut up and keep quiet
Neither has carr 😂
He's still right 😂
I forgot Michael Thomas played in NOLA. So Carr is the only QB who throws that pass?! Was the Carr the one who hit a defenseless WR? It’s football it’s part of the game.
It's called a hospital ball, my guy. Don't act like you never heard of it.
It’s consistent though
Carr has a history of this.
stop being emotional it's a get you hospitalized ball live or dead on arrival
Olave is gonna have a short career. Way too many concussions and it’s only his 2nd year
You can thank Carr for that
3rd year but yeah
Peace.
We knew which side Shay Shay would take… put your glasses back on!
Mike was just speaking facts. Just because no one else is open doesn’t mean you force a ball to a receiver & lead him into a defender. It’s a weak for a QB to do that.

Non saints fans are slow. Mt was right.
U were singing a different song after week 2😂 ridiculous move going straight to blaming the qb for these losses
@@josiahgross1175nigga are you slow? This whole thing was blaming him for getting olave hurt
Why are we listening to Derek not talk about him throwing his WR into a hit vs throwing it low like it should have been?
First off that a clean hit.
Carr is also out his mind because that route was triple covered and the ball shouldn’t have been thrown.
Finally Dennis is out of the Saints thank goodness! Welcome Darren Rizzi!
I will always blame hits like that on the quarterback. These guys can’t read defenses and that’s how these hits happen
lol why would Carr still be in the league this long if he couldn’t read defenses?? I swear yall just say whatever. It was just bad ball placement nothing more nothing less. It’s football it happens people get hurt. If you can’t deal with it go play tennis.
@ no quarterbacks in this era can read defenses. They don’t have to because a bad read in this era of football results in 15 free yards, an automatic first down, and the defender that made the hit being halfway to an ejection. Understand I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt by saying he can’t read defenses because if he read that safety driving and threw that ball anyway then Michael Thomas is definitely right
i like mike but he wrong for that. we all know carr wouldn’t intentionally get anyone hurt. c’mon brotha, get it together
Nah bruh that’s wild af, it was clearly a late hit to a defenseless receiver which he got penalized for. This ain’t right y’all. This is low.
No way they sitting here acting like that wasn’t a hospital ball it’s an inaccurate ball in the middle of the field Derek has gotten multiple receivers killed and keeps getting olave killed
Killed??? As in toe tied🤔
