This VHS print of The Shining has the correct color text for the end credits!
Man I miss that old film look
Possibly the greatest film ever. The end credits are slightly different between all versions (full frame/wide-screen, vhs, dvd, bluray).
"Here's Johnny!" - Jack Torrance
Classic one, it'll never get old
I remember the argentinian 80’s vhs version that the end blue credits had the snowed hedge maze at night as background
Sublime.
TylerTristar2IsBack's 1986 1987 Print VHS of this at the end had the Black screen of death at the end but after that the black screen continued and then the cheesy shield music over the black screen started playing and stopped at 7 seconds i think. It was printed Nov 7 1987 twice.
I wonder at what point down the line they changed the credits from blue to white? Why and how? Do you know?
I don't to be honest
I read somewhere that this might be a result of film decoloration/deterioration but I am not sure
When Warner Home Video switched from their clamshell cases to the standard slipcases in 1986, this is when the letter coloring was changed. Most likely by Kubrick himself, who maybe wanted to change them that way, and they've stayed white ever since on all subsequent formats.
The blue credits stayed that way whenever the movie was shown on network TV and pay-TV channels (TBS, USA, local stations, etc.), until about 2000, when all film prints reverted to the (then) newly-remastered ones.
does this have extended blank film at the end?
certain old tapes have extended blank film at the end.
Actually, it doesn't have any additional blank film. This was duplicated by S/T back in 1982.
I don't have any tapes from this same period/duplicator with additional blank film.
I have what I believe is the 1986 print as well, I might have to check if it does contain the same strange closing
I'll upload it whenever I get a chance
@@segramsvhslibrary like how much static after the silent black screen and rated r screen.
