Your awesome psiverwi!!!!
Hey! I reviewed this laptop! I have the recovery discs if you want the factory image.
@@chandlerbing7570 ya
I had this very same computer! cost me $500 more in canada than the states....returned it...used it for 6 years...was great at the time. greetings from nova scotia.
i had the 1.5ghz amd processor in mine.
Ah yes! My college computer!! It was like trying to move Stonehenge when carrying it from class to class in my backpack. 🤣❤️
I remember running into a door with mine and breaking the optical drive lol
@@WiiUniverse 🤣🤣❤️
i must say i think a aspire 7720z is probably as thick

Man, I remember when laptops being desktop replacements was crazy back in the day, now most people buy a laptop instead of a desktop
I need yes or yes a laptop for my studies, I just need long battery, any recommendation?
@@limalima6740 price range?
@@limalima6740 and do you need good specs?
@@limalima6740 If you don't care about specs and everything you do is web based I might recommend a cheaper Chromebook
@@limalima6740 Refurbished Thinkpads should do the trick. I got a X250 refurbished and that laptop is great (though mine has a crappy TN 1366x768 screen which I'll be replacing it soon).
This is a beefy big boy, but still impressive
Yes, very
That’s what she said!
@@forestfaint9269 You're the biggest Fucking legend EVER
Thiccc
I have a beefier one.
My dad got one of these back in 2004 as our family laptop... It was definitely state of the art and first grade me thought it was amazing that you could play DVDs on a computer! So long Windows XP, you will always be remembered.
as much as i literally dont care about things like nordvpn, i'm glad the transitions are getting way more creative for sponsors across all of youtube so at least you get a smile out of them
got this same exact laptop with the Pentium 4 2.8, and it’s crazy how heavy it is! Runs Lubuntu flawlessly but windows 7 is very slow. Quite an interesting laptop to have!
Lubuntu is awesome
@Mayara & Omar & Friends Have you used a Pentium 4 in the modern day? A low power i3 is several times stronger than a P4 with just one of their cores.
@Mayara & Omar & Friends Are you using a hard drive instead of an SSD by any chance? That may be why your device is so slow. If you switch to an SSD it should be much faster.
From what I can tell you have a 4th gen i3, so if you have at least 4gb of ram it should work fine if you've got an SSD. The integrated GPU is indeed crap and you can't do anything about it though.
@Mayara & Omar & Friends I mean, it really depends on the generation, but even the 1st i3 was faster than any Netburst CPU.
P4's are hot garbage.
Athlon xp!!! Ftw
I've got a pavilion zd7000 from the same year soo...
mines bigger 😏
I have a zv6000 which is chunky haha. Athlon64 too hehe :P
Yo dapz!?
:o
Thats what she said
This doesn’t make sense also hi dapz
:o
this Laptop looks quite amazing. I knew HP made it possible.
I just upgraded a Dell Dimension 8400 desktop that came with 1 Gb of RAM, NVidia Geforce GT 240 GPU, and a 80 Gb SATA HDD. I stepped up the RAM to 3 Gb and the HDD to 120 Gb. I left the PCI-e GPU as it works well and the monitor only uses VGA. I am planning on a video soon. Your videos are my sweet spot. Thank you for all of your hard work.
My actual reaction to the beard: ahh he has a beard. It looks good by the way dude
its sexy
I've been watching you since your minecraft lets plays from 2012, your videos are still very enjoyable and relaxing to watch! Great content bro.
That's a nice thicc boi.
The screen actually doesn't look too bad for it's age. Pretty good quality.
jedi outcast good nice pfp
The second stick of ram is under the keyboard on the other side of the motherboard if I recall correctly. This was my first new laptop (but the amd variant), had it for years before selling it on. I remember when I bought it they advertised it as 'only weighting as much as a gallon and a half of milk' or about 8lbs. This thing was a beast and ran great the whole time I owned it.
Still got my thick ass 2007 dell xps m1710. Core 2 duo, I forgot the dedicated gpu card but I was able to run cs and played too many hours of WoW on it. Still works till this day
Man. Nord is so powerful he grew a beard!
Great laptop! I've been looking for a p4 laptop with a dedicated graphics card, you're absolutely right when you said they are hard to find. Thanks for another video.
I have a similar one from 2004. I loved mine but I think it was a Celeron. Massive, thick, heavy, but a great laptop! I used to love the Compaq logo on the back of the screen too, and how blaring and loud the speakers were!
honestly i like beefy big laptops more, there is just something with the new laptops that makes me fear i'll break them accidentaly
Me too
I break s0me thing on my thin l4ptop
I have one of these and it's an absolute brick. You could drop it and it would probably leave a dent in the floor instead of breaking.
L yeah
my mom bought me a toughbook when i was a kid. my dad once throwed it in the cabinet with anger and the cabinet broke ( : ()
they're awesome if you don't plan on carrying it with you anywhere, my previous laptop felt like a literal brick whenever i brought it to uni, i feel much better owning a lighter laptop now
this was my first laptop, i loved it!
Same lol
1:03 Imo the funniest thing I’ve seen Psivewri do in a while.
I am very happy that you uploaded a new Video !!!
this was the exact same model my parents used when I was little, it was nice to see it again :)) cool vid
Okay you get points for that transition into your ad! Haha at first I was like seriously they left that?? 😂😂
Great review! It's always good to see these older Windows XP and earlier based laptops get a second life with more retro based tasks, as some pieces of software simply will not run on anything newer.
Also, which SSD bracket do you recommend for older IDE hard drives? I have a few IDE hard drives that I might want to convert to SSD so it might come in useful to buy some laptop IDE to SSD converters (better than picking up used IDE hard drives, and IDE to SATA will not fit).
This is one beautiful laptop. The rounded edges and that square screen really contributes to the esthetics.
It's the best old computer
@@shaylawatson1244 No doubt about that! ✌️
We need a tour of the collection!
Psivewri has a beard. This shows you that he's *manly.* 🧔
Agreed.
@@scotisme8727 lol same
Ah, the comment I searched for
@@louisberghaus1886 Yes. Yes, you did.
(not having a beard doesn't make you any less manly for anyone who thinks that)
What a hell of a coincidence! I just picked up an HP nx9110 and it's basically the same laptop, just with a different paint job. It's in absolutely fantastic condition for such an old system- literally everything on it works, including the battery! And unlike a lot of similar systems from the era, it seems to do a pretty solid job of keeping itself cool even under load without too much noise. It's a surprisingly nice computer and I like it a lot.
BTW, the other ram slot is under the keyboard. It will boot up with 2gb, but mine crashed shortly afterwards. Haven't quite figured out why.
Nice video again. But you definitely need a portable air compressor to pressure clean those tiny bits like heatsinks and fans etc.
Finally a new video I love your channel man 👍
I really love your videos, but I think that they should be longer!
Greetings from Italy
Great work 😁
I really enjoy your videos!
“Feature rich Chonker” is going to be my new twitter bio.
Nice! I’ve actually got an older one of their laptops, the presario 1600 it’s also got JBL speakers, all in all works surprisingly well the original battery still works even! Still holds up to an hour charge!
I appreciate the knowledge
Looks a lot like my old NX9110 laptop, which I used as a music playing laptop for about two years. Beautiful laptop, and one I miss.
The YT rabbit hole brought me here.
I have the R4000 Athlon 64 model 2005 still in working order, I was surprised that when I recently opened it up it had very little dust inside.
This channel is fantastic thanks for your videos
I Was waiting for this
I also spent many time in paint as kid. I still have some my masterpieces on pc
Man this is a blast from the past, I had a much newer model way back.
That's a huge piece of treasure you got there
Very nice machine, I enjoyed the video
Thank you
P.s. I really like your moustache in the beginning of the video
Damn bud that was the best segue ever!
This has always been one of my favorite laptops or atleast one very similar, idk something about them when I saw them when I was younger has just stuck with me.
my father had that exact laptop and it was my first computer i loved that thing made many paint drawings as a kid on there.
he seems so different with the beard lol
I have this laptop and the speakers are top notch. Of course it has his age. I definitely will check this laptop again.
Oh, the memories! Except for the thickness, it looks almost the same as my first laptop, a Compaq Presario v2000, packed with an AMD Athlon 64 (also in a full socket) and 512mb of RAM. I think it was a bit newer model than this.
Great video as always!
I've got this system and a V2000. As far as I can tell they're based on the same chassis style, because the V2000 looks like a shrunk-down version.
I remember the ad. It was priced at $399, which was a steal of a price back then.
Holy crap! I used this laptop during my freshman year! I made it into a pretty biptchin snow leopard hackintosh, till the battery kicked the bucket... rip.
This thing is so cool I might get one of these
The best cleaning channel😍😍
I've picked up one of those some time ago. Paid 4 euros here in Italy. Installed lubuntu 18.04 lts and I'm happy
Another cool video :)
Loving the beard my man
What a good segue to the sponsor LOL !
Love to see these big chonky chunguses. Shows us how far we've come
My University Laptop used from 2006-2010. Yes its heavy but keyboard and Audio quality was great. With window xp it worked great. I disassembled it so many times that i know each and every screw.
Everyone: Let's Power On The Laptop!
Psivewri: Spends More Than Half The Time Cleaning The Computer
You are such a nice guy
This brought back some memories! I bought one with a settlement from a car accident. Had for about 5 years and ended up install Mac OS on it before it finally died.
I loved my R3000 (the AMD Athlon64 version). Used as a desktop replacement for a few years.
Compaq sounds like compact even if the laptop isn't compact
I'm impressed it was able to play RUclips tbh. What a beast!
AH !!! XP start up sound. Excellent
That segway to the sponsor was perfect hahaha
I’ve got 2 Athlon 64 R4000s, absolutely love them. Not much to do with them online considering the last browser on XP was a version of Firefox from 2018, but I’d take them over any modern laptop any day when I need to type for long periods of time
There are some unofficial browsers for Windows XP still being made, such as MyPal.
@@MLGKid420 oh wow, I’ve never heard of it before. Might as well give it a try lol
A walk around of the I/O would be nice too :)
Upvoted just for that smooth NordVPN segue
I just got one from 1990, it was my dads from advanced auto parts, and a hp that needed a back light!
I had a Thinkpad with a Pentium 4. Man that was a solid heavy beast. Developed VB6 and Access apps on it, later upgraded to MSDE (remember that).
This is an amazing laptop.
I have one of those laptops I bought it because it can run Windows 9x software mine has the 700 megahertz AMD processor has Windows XP and DVD player software got Bunch load of Compaq wallpapers thank you for showing this video it makes me love this laptop even more
The compaq I have is a 2500 presario...I've taken it apart and gave it a good clean including new thermal paste....works great.
1:01 is Psivewri's small attempt at sarcasm with the power of editing
I used to have a Presario model that was this thick and had a 4:3 screen ratio. I had Windows 7 starter 32 bit running on it with 1GB DDR. I must say it was running surprisingly well.
Noice, I've had a few of these. Repaired dozens.
Have a Presario V2000, looks quite similar though severely less powerful. Love the keyboard on it 😍
still more powerful than my desktop computer as a child in 2005
Psivewri saying 15.4 inches is massive, my 15.6 inch laptop: ...
Heh, I've got one of those :D Have to say I had no idea the CPU was socketed. That's really cool. I have dedicated desktops for Windows XP but this laptop definitely comes in useful when I don't have access to my desktops :D The only thing I found is that mine needs it's date and time battery replaced and I've no idea where to find it lol xD
Awesome!
I don't know why but I always like to see the insides of these old laptop
I remeber seing this computer in a black Friday ad as a kid! I I saved all my money to buy it! When I got to the store they where gone:(
I shouldn’t be surprised that this exists. If Dell had a super jacked up desktop class Pentium 4 laptop as well as HP, makes sense that Compaq would have one too. There is at least one or two of these super chokers that were made per company back in the day.
Hey! It's Windows XP 20th anniversary!
Wasn't aware that you could convert the old IDE (PATA) to SSD Card. Thanks for the useful informaiton.
Love you!
When it comes to tech I don't really throw it away
Rockin' the beard :-)
Babe wake up, new Psivewri video just dropped
Nice video
I have a Compaq NC6000, I can even play 2010 games on it, not at high fps rates of course. Impressive for an 2005 laptop i must say.
those are massive speakers for a laptop!
Used to have a HP Pavilion ZD8000, which also had a desktop Pentium 4, discrete GPU and 3 cooling fans and a 17 inch screen. Thing was massive
Omg hes is back with almost mustache
Ha, I had one of these laptops back in 2004! It was a great machine at the time.
That CPU is the best Socket 478 Pentium 4 there is, very nice for a pre-2004 gaming build.
