    • @RecapturedValues
      @RecapturedValues  3 года назад

      Glad to have helped ❤, if using dbp which doesn't fray, since this skirt is cut on double fold and there are no seams you can leave it unhemmed if you want (its what I do). If you choose to hem you will need to cut the skirt a size longer but use the same waist curve for intended size.

    Hey girl thank you so much I made and my family and friends loved it . They want their own . I Have a question . How come there is no hem on bottom of skirt.? I’m new to sewing so I’m not criticizing at all . I just know on regular shirts they want hems . It looks wonderful without still .

    • @RecapturedValues
      @RecapturedValues  2 года назад +1

      As long as the skirt fabric is a knit that will not fray, then hemming will be a preference. In this case, I am using double brushed poly fabric and cut it using a double fold circle skirt meaning that particular fabric will not fray if left raw and there are no side seams to secure so I chose to leave it raw. You could absolutely hem but it would make it a bit shorter depending on the hem allowance you take 😉❤️ you could also do somethi with like a rolled lettuce hem finish on the hem for added character and to finish the hem without taking too much length off.

    Great tutorial however i noticed when i made one out of a printed material like stuff on it, it comes out upside down and sideways. Like the pattern is upside and sideways. is it how im cutting out the circle? I don't know how i would fix it. I made one out of mermaid scales but the scales are going in all different directions and upside down :(

    • @RecapturedValues
      @RecapturedValues  3 года назад +3

      Instead of cutting a double fold cut two half skirts on one fold, make sure to pay attention to the direction of your fabric when you fold and lay pattern piece down. You will have to sew the side seams together to make it full circle again. But both sides should be right side up that way.👍🏻❤

    The way you hold the rotary cutter is the complete opposite of how it’s supposed to be held lol. They say to cut away not towards. I actually want to try cutting the way you are though. It seems like you have a good control.

    Hi! I’m trying to print the skirt pattern out and for some reason it’s not correctly printing the second page of the pattern out. It won’t let me attach a picture but the second part of the pattern isn’t printing the whole line. I’m printing at 100%. Any ideas what I can do to fix it? I’m trying to cut a 2T/3T skirt
