I purchased a Del-Ton Echo a few years ago and it had some initial issues. The barrel nut was not timed properly, and the gas tube had been shoehorned in, bending it. Its also over gassed a little. The barrel chamber passed a 5.56mm go/no-go check. The buffer tube had threading mandrel marks that was cosmetically unappealing. To get it to run, I had to re-clock the barrel nut and replace the bent gas tube. I also replaced the buffer tube and installed some Magpul MOE furniture, and I dropped in an ALG-QMS trigger. I added an additional tungsten weight to the buffer (making it an H2 buffer) to address the over-gassing issue. With those repairs the rifle runs and looks respectable (all in cost is about $650). Its still a little gassy and punchy but has been 100% reliable with 800 rounds fired, so far. Not bad for a budget-entry-level AR. YMMV
When I was getting into this type of hobby, my first AR was a Delton that i got over ten years ago. I ran all different types of ammo including those wolf steel cased and never had any issues what so ever. I probably need to change the barrel and gas tube since I have well over 5k rounds and till now still have my Delton. Thanks for the video.
I really like your reviews and how in-depth you go into rifle spec. I was looking into getting one of these for myself I looked at their website and saw the same about the barrel material I ended up calling delton and the barrel material on the sierra and echo 316's are 4150 cmv the delton sport has 4140 cmv. Thanks for the great videos
Thanks for watching. I think your phone conversation is very interesting and begs the questions why don't they mark it on their barrels and why don't they put that information on their web site? Well, if the company wants to change to a cheaper barrel, this way they don't have to change the information and cannot be held liable. There are plenty in the shooting community that know the difference in the steels and the results of both in a gun. So, why no info? At the very least it's just lazy and that might be even more concerning. I am really confused by Del-ton at this point. They clearly have upped their game and IMO are changing how I now have to look at the cheaper ARs, but at the same time they do confusing stuff like making the gun moderately better but skip other things like the barrel step and not cleaning the muzzle crown and not marking the barrels with the steel, etc.
Highly underrated channel. Love the reviews. I was impressed with this rifle, but the headspace issue would be a total fail in my book. I shouldn't have to worry about checking for high pressure signs or if the guns going to explode.
I completely agree. The barrel so far is suspect, but let’s see what it does when shot. I’m trying to remain neutral but the barrel would be a fail for me right off the bat.
Just bought one for $800 mag pull furniture ,crimson red dot , 5 mags, 200 rounds of 223,fab defense front back sight, ryze armament 242 trigger, tac light with palm switch (just a cheapo) prolly forgetting a few things but did I get a good deal or screwed?

You got a decent deal.
What's the difference between Sierra and echo? My echo 316l looks to be the same
The Echo is a non free floated handguard and a different bas block. Not the same at all.
I was told by Del-Ton that "ECHO denotes that is a CARBINE gas system rifle while the SIERRA denotes that it is a MID Length gas system rifle"
@@DMW23 my delton is mid length tho not carbine
got mine for a steal for 330
May I ask where?
