Swift Window rubber water ingress.

  • Where as I think the construction method is very good in the newer Swift caravans, it's only as good as the weakest link, putting the cant rails and sun roof aside, the next issue we have is the front window rubber. This is failing and allowing water into the caravan which causes damage to the front shelf which is a significant job to replace. Not so bad when it is under warranty, but expensive if it is not.

    Bought a brand new bailey in january, three weeks later water was pouring in and going down the bulkhead and onto the floor and draining onto the drive through the floor vent. Upon investigation much (not all) of the water was getting through the L/H window seal.

    Very good to know. My friend was having water ingress through the same place on his Bailey for a similar reason

    What glue do you use to stick it back down again?

      You have to replace the window rubber as the sealant will be compromised and have water in it.

    Why are £33,000 caravans so shit , every one I've had gets damp inside ,no more caravans for me they are all shite

      It is frustrating when we are still seeing the same problems year after year, having said that, some of the problems we did have, have been addressed. But still, can’t disagree..
