      That was not Nollywood, that was in the class of the New Masquerade of Chief Zebrudaya of NTA Owerri and Aba axis. Totally different from Nollywood. It's better they take Nollywood back to Igbo land and based on Igbo culture and language to stop this useless bastardization of Nollywood

No one in history , past or future , can claim that they are the first to tear down the walls and have brought African Movies to the mainstream on the international stage as an actress , a director and a producer ; but you did it . LOVE YOU FOREVER ! GRATEFUL TO YOU FOREVER !

    I am so happy and proud of Nollywood.This has been a long time coming! I have been watching African movies for over 20 yrs now.(Who remembers the movie "Making of the King") I have watched my actors grow up on screen, get married, have their children.... I have seen some of my favourites die and some changing careers.... I have enjoyed the sound tracks, the directors and makeup artists and I am enjoying all the new upcoming actors. I have enjoyed the story lines because the are so reflective of real life in any culture. I wish Nollywood all the best..A candle cannot be hidden under a bush forever!

      Alice Greg and without Nigeria, where would nollywood be? Lol look at the credits for the movie. Many Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani people involved. Heck the cinematography people are praising was done by a Yoruba guy. If Nigerians refuses to watch the movie, it will crash and Netflix won’t be interested in doing any business again. This is the first movie Netflix supported and won’t be the last. If there are more Yoruba actors in the next film, maybe yorubas should say it’s their movie, not Nigeria’s

      You are stupid to say that, do you know who Genevieve is if you say she was ever timid. She is full of CLASS and cant indulge in small foolish things and crowd mentality, thats why she is a brand ambassador o man multi million dollar companies all around he world..

    • @xavierwisdom3169
      @xavierwisdom3169 6 лет назад

      That girl could not stand the South African girls when she went shooting for Miss Lux, she was edited from almost of the advert screen. On Nigeria home front, she could not carry herself on the Red carpet.. I ad meant for Omotola but when to her because she was sleeping then with Atiku the vice president then.
      You don't even know nothing about her. I will read you her chapter. Yes.,she has grown and groomed her self well. A foolish igbotic soul like you will come on social media to talk.

    • @samanthagreensville3714
      @samanthagreensville3714 6 лет назад +1

      Rod Don
      Will you shut up your Afonja dirty mouth there. You dare open your stinking gutter to call Genevieve a "girl", your mother never taught you respect as you fools claim to have. You say Genevieve could not face South African girls, yet she faced Oprah Winfery who is arguably the richest black woman in the world, did she also sleep with Atiku to get to that stage with Oprah? Fool! You think because Omotala is married she is not the one who's sleeping around. I know Omotala very well and she is a hypocrite, even with her sleeping with movie makers all around the world she can never ever reach the heights of the African screen Goddess Genevieve and that is why your sorrow must remain. Genevieve has paid her dues in the movie industry by working hard and staying true to herself with maximum confidence, reason she never bleached her skin, reason she never had one single scandal to her name, reason she is calm and well mannered, reason she is a brand Ambassador of many multi million dollar companies worldwide including RangeRover and Chanel Handbag. Dont let pain kill you dirty Afonja, you can only wish you people had someone as blessed as Genevieve Nnaji.
      Known envious and Jealous tribe! Carry on.. Rubbish!

      Chukwuma Daniel Nigeria has known by the rest of the world not just for this movie.. stop exaggerating...

    • @chukwumajohnson01
      @chukwumajohnson01 6 лет назад

      I wanna tell you that isn't an exaggeration, I ironically meant that they are bringing us to the world of honour. You that said that Nigeria is already known all over the world, you even exaggerating because not every country of the world knows Nigeria. Moreover, Nigeria is never known for good, all they know for Nigeria is evil and dangerous which is very bad.

    Wow..wow...am much impressed with the bold step Africa has taken,Nigeria to be precise.. I'm a Ghanaian and my dream is to be a film maker but there is this thing that if you are an African no matter how hard you try in making film it will not be like that of Hollywood movies but Genevieve has proven that thought wrong..thumps up for Genevieve... This is what Africa needs ..bless up Nigeria, bless up Ghana,bless up mama Africa

    As Black people we are starved of our true cultures being depicted through the eyes if other Africans/Blacks
    Thanks to Netflix but we need to have our own platforms to showcase our films so we build our economies and our totally dependant on ourselves

    • @msgirly6827
      @msgirly6827 6 лет назад +1

      This was exactly what i have been saying. Its great what netflix is doing and whatnot but the money is going to rich white men/folks. Rich white men are profiting from black peoples talent as always. And its disturbing in some kind of way. I truly hope we can make a change and make our own so we can pass it to our children and keep wealth within our community like other races do.

    It a saying, that when you watch things over and over you're going to see things that you missed. I just realized that when Genevieve came back out on the stage after the showing of the film she got a standing ovation from the audience, and that's why she cried.
