My wife Astrid and I got to meet him, that year, and hear him play his magic, when he came to the USA, on this tour, and it was one of the best moments of my wife's life, in our 37 years together....not long before she passed away to the Spirit World...from cancer...THANKS Jim, for giving her that beautiful night.......

How this beautiful song reminds me of David and Myrtle from Dunfermline, my Scottish guest parents who showed me the country of their ancestors in the 80s

Has anyone heard Gary Lightbodys version of Jock O'Hazeldein? I'd recommend it. It's sublime.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. I WONDER WHETHER MR. MALCOLM IS PLAYING THIS IN DADGAD OR ANOTHER OPEN TUNING. THIS WAS A SOUND FOR SORE EARS - DELICATE AND EMOTIVE.

Jim usually plays in DADGAD so I would guess that's what this is. Beautiful, isn't it.

I would really need the English british translation of this lyric. I speak Spanish and there's no translator for these (I consider) old words of English. Thanks.

A 'border ballad' based perhaps on at least one famous incident in the 1500s where a Scots lord was taken during a raid (reive) on the English side of the border. He bambozzles the very young daughter of his captor and she arranges his escape back to Scotland providing she goes along and marries him. Once safe away, the Scot (Jock) sends her packing back to her father who, folklore suggests, is remarkably forgiving of her naivety. He'd have been looking forward to a large ransome.
