  • Tonga! Finally and we are loving the weather and being back in the cruising lifestyle where there are other boats to hang and explore with. We get busy with a few essential jobs, like installing a new alternator, making water and washing clothes, and of course exploring Nuku'alofa for markets and groceries. And then, because we are so desperate to snorkel and dive, we head north to the Vava'u group on an overnight passage, all the while looking for whales!

Some fabulous footage from interesting camera angles. Denise, I could almost smell the curry & Jamie, I liked your elegant dive. Love it all!

      Glad you enjoyed it Helen.
Remember most of Denise’ recipes are on the website. Lukimyu.com.au
That particular recipe is not yet up, so we’ll need to get on to that.
Thank you also for your kind words on our footage.

      Thanks Scott.
The size, scale and impact of the volcanic eruption and corresponding tsunami was certainly far greater than I remember being reported in western news. Combined with Tonga having been closed until very recently, it will be sometime before Tonga is really back on its feet.

Hi Tony, Thank you for comments and thanks for watching.
The water colour of the Pacific never ceases to amaze us.
Yes, we do have our own dive compressor. A Bauer Junior 2. A great little compressor. Takes about 20 minutes to fill a 100cf tank.

Denise - you seem to pronounce Tonga as Ton-gah (hard g) and Jamie says Tong-ah (soft g). What do the locals call it?

      Hi Scott,
The locals we met seem to say Tong-ah. But who really knows?
