    My language goals:
    Ten novels read in Mandarin, Japanese and Spanish.
    TV shows without English subtitles twice a week in Mandarin, Japanese and Spanish.
    Finish the five levels of each language on Pimsluer application. Currently just these three languages and this includes the tests and flashcards within Pimsluer.
    Starting in July I want to start speaking with tutors for the languages. Mandarin is the only language I am new in, but I haven't spoken often in Japanese or Spanish since 2008 when I moved to the USA.
    So, even though I want to get back to all of my languages I have a demanding job and family. I really only have time for three languages this year for now.

      It is such a challenge, I can understand. But you already have a plan, which is great 😊 Good luck 🍀

    Merhaba Özge! Great to have found your channel. So excited to see so many languages for 2024.
    It seems like you are focusing more on course work for certain languages, and using Lingq more for the ones you are confident in? Is that about right, I'm trying to work out a nice schedule an system for my own studies.

      Merhaba and thank you! Basically, yes. I try to put all the content I consume in German and English on Lingq. I also use lingq for my beginner-level languages, but in a different way. For example, I Imported all my course material for Persian to Lingq. I keep listening to them repeatedly. I wish you the best of luck on your studies 😊🍀

      @@ozge.akdogan Thanks for the feedback! Lingq is something I ve heard about for such a long time, just never really given it a try. I think having access to reading materials for different languages I wouldnt other wise get is awesome!

    Hell I just didn’t like linq, but I was using that with English, which is not that bad. I am thinking now to try again with Norwegian.

    Do you always translate foreign languages into Turkish first or also into the other languages?

    • @ozge.akdogan
      @ozge.akdogan  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, I usually translate them into English first. If I still don’t understand, I look up the meaning in Turkish.

    Your LingQ word counts for all those languages are impressive. How do you find the time to learn so many languages? I’m using LingQ and Babbel to learn German. Do you use Babbel for a new language first and then move on to LingQ when you have completed the Babbel course? I would love to know your learning strategy in more detail.

    • @ozge.akdogan
      @ozge.akdogan  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hi, I usually learn on my mobile, as I commute to work. It is of course not an intensive learning, that is why my progress in new languages are really slow. I try to spend more time at the weekend. I can't just stick with Babbel, it would be boring for me 😅 I do both Babbel and Lingq for new languages, but not everyday. I plan to make videos to show in more detail how I learn. Thank you :)

    You look like you’ve read a lot. How long have you been using LingQ?

    • @ozge.akdogan
      @ozge.akdogan  11 месяцев назад

      Hi, I have used LingQ in 2019 for a few months, then I have quitted. In December 2022 I have reset all my progress and started again. So, I have achieved these word counts in approximately one year.
