    Trivia:
That song, “You All Everybody” is based on a Lost “inside joke”:
Very early in filmation producers kept calling actors jokingly using the phrase, and quickly It became a funny catchphrase behind the scenes.
The phrase itself mocked a comment by an audience member in an episode of the Phil Donahue Show.
The entire (brief) lyrics of the song were the actual words of that audience member:
“You all everybody look like stupid people, wearing expensive clothes…”
The phrase became a joke very quickly, and thus the song appeared as early as the pilot episode.

Don't worry about the rambling. I LIVE for the super long discussions about these episodes. And you're only on early S1!! The discussions are only going to get longer and longer as you get further in the show. I also can ramble for wayyyy too long about LOST

You're not wrong. A cold turkey detox, especially from Heroin, can be fatal.

Sprite, Doritos & LOST! What more could you ask for in an episode with a couple of the best LOST memes?
I am not really sure if plane wreckage would be easily visible from 35,000ft.
"Hey, hey Scott!" "I'm Steve" "I'm Scott" 😆
    You all everybody!!
    Another excellent episode.

I am one (of many???) who recommended you to consider LOST after BSG, and I am so glad (and relieved) that you seem to be enjoying the ride. I really like your analysis and insights on the characters and story. It will be a long ride, but I feel you will enjoy every minute ! 🤞🏼
    Another great reaction.

One of my favorite episodes. Locke, the Shaman of the island, the philosopher.
You're probably right about Sawyer, after all, he did tell Kate - 'I'm a complex guy sweetheart'.
Also, maybe you missed it but Michael did tell the people at the cave he had several years of construction experience. I don't know that makes him an engineer but, it's something.

Sayid is hoping to find a radio tower, its worth finding even if you're not sure sending a message would work.

Watching these episodes, I'm sensing that we are coming to a turning point with almost all the major character's backgrounds being told, as if everything that has gone before is prologue and things will start happening in a big way. And that line from Charlie will keep coming back to haunt us, "Guys, where are we?"

One of my favorite episodes of this season. A pivotal moment that helped Charlie over the drug addiction. This is what made me love Charlie Pace.

If there was a moth, there must be a way out. How else could the moth get in? Answer: The same way Jack got in. Oops.

I really don't like Charlie's brother. Remember how he begged Charlie to come back and they would not do drugs and that Charlie could call it quits when ever he wanted to? Now Charlie wants to continue but his brother says "No". Now, I realize that the brother finally got his life back together. I don't know what he should have done. He should at the very least apologize for what he had done to Charlie. But offering him a bed is not what Charlie needed. Charlie needed to hear his brother say something like: "I'm sorry. I know I am responsible for putting you in a situation where you would have a hard time saying "No" to drugs."

I get that Lock sees this as also a spiratual journey for Charlie but they should have gotten Jack involved. Yes going cold turkey from some drugs can kill you but I'm not a Dr and neither is Lock. Finding the source of the transmission is a good idea because that means he finds the major source of electricity on the island.

Funny that you brought up "Under The Dome", which was a show based on a Stephen King novel. This show was a favorite of Stephen King when it aired. You will occasionally see some little references to Stephen King and other authors of the horror / supernatural genre scattered through the series - for example the hand coming up through the ground I can't remember a specific movie, but I know that that trope has been in several movies, including a Stephen King movie.

The hand coming out of the ground was used in Carrie.

Driveshaft = Oasis. He's even called Liam.
Once you understand Kate's backstory and Sawyer's you will see that she instinctively knows EXACTLY who he is.

I also like Charlie (my favorite character is Desmond and I also find him most attractive from the male cast, but it's too early to write about him). Years ago, when I watched The Lord of the rings for the first time, I thought, that Pippin and Merry are super cute.

Not a spoiler but the Steve/Scott thing becomes a running gag. Very few of the non main-cast survivors played by the extras actually get names said aloud but the Scott/Steve thing in particular.. yeah, they look alike and that becomes a thing lol.

In the first 9 episodes of pickup it was my understanding that Emilie deRavin wasn't officially signed as a permanent cast member yet, despite her being credited along with the regulars, which is one of the reasons she is missing from this one. That may have changed between the time this was filmed and the time it was edited and aired, which would be why she was credited as a series regular from the start. But I remember reading that during at least the filming process of the pilot and the first few episodes, she wasn't yet considered a series regular.
      L. Scott Caldwell, who plays Rose, is always credited as a guest actress. I always get happy when I see her name in the credits because Rose is the best.

Question if you don't mind: I'm a bit of a student of English, English dialects, and regional accents. Most people pronounce "Sawyer" the way you hear it on the show ("SOY-yer"). Your pronunciation of "Sawyer" as "SAW-yer" is somewhat unusual, depending on where you're at. I suspect US west coast. Am I close?
