I am a Korean citizen who grew up in the Philippines, attended college in the US (Boston College), and attended Medical school in the Philippines (from Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health). Currently doing my best to get into a US Residency Program!

Thank you everyone for your love, prayers, support, and words of encouragement. Match week was definitely a challenging week for me to say the least, but I am up on my feet and on it once again. Definitely not giving up until I make it! So let's keep fighting! 🙂💪❤

I know how hard it is for you. I had the same feeling. I almost quit this journey because I just got 3 interviews this match season. I was devastated, almost lost all hope, and tried to look for a job in my home country. But I matched to my top 1 program in the end. Just want to say just hang in there, don't lose faith, Sarang. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Ive seen multiple youtube videos of people who did not match pop up on my stream, so they may just not be sowing up in your algorithm.

Hang in there. I went unmatched my first year applying and failed to SOAP. Now I'm finishing up an IM/EM residency.

Sarang I've been following you on twitter for a few months and I totally get how you're feeling right now. I just wanted to tell you, just like a person who I consider a mentor told me a few days ago when I felt so lost in this journey: God doesn't put dreams in our heads that we can't accomplish. As someone who works in the rural EM staffing world this is extremely disappointing to find out that 500 EM spots were open, we’re so desperate for great docs. Hope you get in!!!!!❤
I think Covid 19 Is a possible answer to That people have realize how stressful Is EM in Terms of mental health

What made you not want to practice in the Philippines?
I’m not a Filipino citizen so I’m not allowed to take the licensing exam in the Philippines - which means I can’t practice medicine there

Yes. I soaped into EM without SLOE. Soap and the whole match business is an insane process and looking back at this vid just makes me upset tbh.

trying to match as an IMG is not an easy task. as a first-year US DO student, I'll be participating in the match in a few years and watching this video has made me simultaneously both humbled by the effort that IMGs have to put in for their match and grateful for being a US student. i'm hoping for the best for you in the next match season! you got this!
