What's Next for the Sony FX6 Owner: Burano & RED Komodo X Showdown

- None of this is anything new, but I figured I'd give my 2 cents that nobody asked for: as a Sony FX6 owner, what camera should we go with next? The answer is never simple, and will vary for everyone. So, as usual, I make the discussion about me and start there. With the Sony Burano coming, the RED Raptor & Komodo X on the loose, and likely many more to come, the answer is far from clear... but, it never is. So, here we go again; once more into the fray.

The Sony will be a beast. I will be picking one up, but I still love working with my reds, the ease of use, the menu system, just a breeze to work with.

I'm sticking inside the Sony universe. I've been Sony all the way since 2001 with a brief affair with a Canon DSLR. The Burano looks like everything I've always wanted in a camera but was afraid to spend money on it. I'm now pondering all the ways to justify spending $25,000 on a camera. Renting it, uncharging clients, etc etc etc. Lol
Yeah I don't think 25K is in the cards at all. Hopefully an FX6 MK II is on the way sooner than later, but I'm not holding my breath.
I think it might be wise to wait to see what Sony does next. That’s my thinking. What will be the camera to take on the Komodo X. There has to be a camera coming in the $15,000 range. Thinking internal ND’s IBIS and that amazing auto focus. Probably 6K and slog 3 max. Burano is great but out of my range. FX3 while no internal ND’s takes care of that crash cam issue and the rolling shutter isn’t bad.
Everyones talking about the FX6 Mark II, but I mean, the FX9 Mark II should be right around the corner if there is one, so why not wait for that?
