Thanks, lads! I'm here researching modern mines for an upcoming project at work, this provided more valuable information than I ever could have hoped for. Cheers!

I went on a tour of this mine when my daughter was going to college at NMU. Unfortunately, my tour was only the surface part. The entrance was far away from the active mine to avoid some sacred native american land. They actually had to upgrade to roads in the area to handle the trucks.

Fantastic video! I am currently a sophomore studying mining engineering at Missouri S&T, and am looking for potential summer engineering internships. Are any such internships available or planned for Eagle Mine?

Cute little mine. Why is your ramp entrance so far from your active headings? Was the ore body not where your exploration drilling said it would be?

Yeah that "Cute little mine" is the ONLY operating Nickle mine in North America and almost as much copper is mined also.
The little mine is making big money now with BS EV batteries.
According to my stepson who works at that little mine Nickle prices have gone through the roof!!!

@fxdb2011 - You need to stop trying to make things up when talking to someone who knows more than you. There are nickle mines around Sudbury Ontario owned by VALE and a huge 1 in Labrador also owned by VALE that get more nickle in a day that this little place can in a month.

How hot was down there? You are one mile deep, so I assume that temperatures might be in the 104 F range.

Hi Mike, we're only about 1,000 feet below surface- it's a comfortable temperature, about 50-60 degrees.
