  • 1973 Porsche 911S Backdate project.
    The backdate project we started over 5 years ago is almost completed!
    Starting life as a narrow bodied 1976 912 our goal was to make a backdated 911S long hood. Every inch of this car has been painstakingly gone over.
    - rebuilt 2.7 liter from a 1975 911 using SC cams
    - rebuilt 915 transmission
    - new SSI's and new Dansk Sport muffler
    - new 911SC brakes
    - new HD Bilstein shocks
    - new Tarett adjustable sway bars front and rear
    - new lightweight Group 4 wheels
    - brand new interior
    Every piece of this car is either new or refurbished. This was a labor of love and soon it will be ready for sale.
    Cheers, Cor

    Holy. I remember seeing this car for sale online years ago and was so close to jumping on it but the flat four was the deal breaker. Glad to see it has a new life!

    OMG thinking of my Porsche 911 2.4 S 190 HP Coupé from 1972 bought it in 1986 for DM 12.000 in Germany and drove it for 6 years these cars cost a fortune now !

    Fellas, that's gorgeous.
    (I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 66,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny, varioram, LSD. No CEL, no oil leaks. I'm never selling it.)

    I love the sound!! Personally I would have kept the sunroof (no roof rack) and the Fuchs wheels, but everything on this is so well done.

    nice car, a 2.7 cis engine with SC cams should make 175 horse power at the crank.
    Rev the snot out of it and you will love it .

    Cant believe they restored a 911, had an issue with "filler in roof" and didnt correct it.The paint will match,if you have it matched!

    You do realize that the Por-sha you backdated was a pretty rare sunroof 912E?

    • @ylvalinnea
      @ylvalinnea Год назад +3

      If memory serves me right, Porsche built 2099 912Es, 500 of them were sunroof cars, so it was indeed a rare beast.

      Unfortunately, the car was super undesirable back in the day. That's why we used it as a project car. We had the car for sale at $19,000 CAD for over a month with zero interest before cutting it up. www.corcars.com/vehicle-inventory/1976-porsche-912e

      @@cormotorcars5393 Back in the day my 1970 914-6 was an undesirable car too and look at them now. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess. If I in fact knew you had it up for sale I would've jumped on it as I live south of you in Bellingham and was looking for one.

    Great build, man.
    And I’m curious, did you consider MFI when you decided 1973 for your target date?

    • @cormotorcars5393
      @cormotorcars5393  Год назад

      No. Although I did want to get a bit more out of the stock 2.7, I did not want to re-invent the wheel here. I did however consider going to a PMO setup.

  • @Andrew-vx2ls
    @Andrew-vx2ls Год назад +1

    Backdated without the carbon fibre nonsense. Good choice of wheels.
    Not convinced about the extended wheel lugs (unspring weight) or the roof rack for mother in law idea.

      Longer studs can preclude the option of mounting hubcaps as well. I have several early 911 hubcaps with outward dents from too-long studs.

    Taking a 912 and turning it into a 911 isn’t sacrilege, but taking any old Porsche and making it electric is god damn blasphemy

    So the studs make this an outlaw?
    Like the rims…but would look far better if they would be painted black…especially with the boring paint job. Now lower it a bit, get rid of the rack on the roof….and you are getting somewhere….
