Rare Euro factory sunroof delete 911SC reimagined by us here at Cor Motorcars! We took a 911SC with great paint and then went through it with a fine tooth comb. We dealt with everything from the engine, transmission, suspension, wheels/tires to interior. Lots of fun building up this old air-cooled Porsche and hopefully you guys enjoy it. Cheers, Cor Motorcars For more on this example visit www....

Backdate 911

1973 Porsche 911S Backdate project. The backdate project we started over 5 years ago is almost completed! Starting life as a narrow bodied 1976 912 our goal was to make a backdated 911S long hood. Every inch of this car has been painstakingly gone over. - rebuilt 2.7 liter from a 1975 911 using SC cams - rebuilt 915 transmission - new SSI's and new Dansk Sport muffler - new 911SC brakes - new H...

All that effort to remove a sunroof? They had sunroofs in 73 ? Gosh seems a strange modification I would have put that concrete bondo and roof rack costs into air conditioning Other than that I like what you’ve done. One last tip. Remove the 911S emblem. It’s probably too late. Backdating is one thing but be careful on the emblems. It’s over the top and not important to your buyers who probably don’t want flash and also don’t want to mislead Your work speaks for itself don’t cheapen it with the emblem. It be better if you put the 912e emblem back on. Even with the s engine. Porsche folks are a different market than those buying a souped up Honda Good luck with the sale. Lot to like!
very nice! is perfect on road and off road
Excellent summary! 4 years with my 1988, and I couldn’t be happier!
Thanks for the insights! Super interesting!
nice place, where is it ?
The pricing is absolutely absurd on these cars. They should be selling for about $20k USD imho. Insane.
I have to get wider rims on my '86.
I have a 86 911 M491 Targa. It comes with the 915 transmission and it’s a real treat to drive. Very old school feel but when you adjust your shifting to the transmission set up, it’s very satisfying. Remember the 915 is an original Porsche racing transmission and it shows! Love it. Not faulting the G50 - also fantastic - but I don’t think it justifies any premium apart from being the latter end of the series.
cyberpunk 🤩
Hard to buy anything and not want to do something, anything to it
My dream car
great!here I drive 4.5AT in China
Very nice build & the exhaust really gives the VR6 motor a good sound. One of the best sounding 6 cylinder engines.
To bad you gotta be a millionaire to afford one
Pure essence of a 911 ... great drivers car ..!
superb
may I ask what camera and editing software was used to film this video?
'PromoSM' 🌹
I have owned a 1995 C2 Coupe 993 since 2014 Best Car I have ever owned, The 964 and 993 are the Greatest Cars ask the owners they are all Great.
Yea that’s nothing special so don’t worry about a lift and cut plastic. Oh yea that “muffler” would have to go as it sounds like an Accord with a can on it.
A 964 can never be a 911.
That 96 Spec DC2, nice to see it parked up with those Porsche.
964 & the 911 Carrera right before it are the most beautiful cars ever
Not sure what that really is - a '60 with an earlier grille or a '59 with a later engine and taillights. My first car was a red 1959 MGA, which was a 1500. The engine became a 1600 in 1960 and the grille and taillights changed.
What a beautiful piece of machinery.
Discreet undercover car. Won’t notice some cops with binoculars in that 😂
My ultimate dream car. Be still, my heart....
Use them up. Drive the hell out of them
No one mentions the dual ignition system! This added an additional 25 HP. The AWD system in the C4 was even more advanced than the 959. I owned serial 000911 and to this day, after 9 Porsches, it stands as the most amazing handling 911 I ever owned. The gearing was fantastic! 250 HP felt like 300... Porsche really choked on the 993 and onward with a basically passive (Torsion) based 4 wheel drive. The grip of the MINIMAL 60/40 torque split was completely neutralized 993 and onward where the true value of 4WD shined. RIP 911 with a real 4WD system. Remember there's a reason governing bodies outlawed the Quarto system in racing 😉
It’s nice to see someone who appreciates the 964-only PDAS (AWD) system The 993-997.1 used a viscous coupling. It is lighter but cost far less to manufacture it (due to lower quality). Viscous and Torsion were options they decided against when developing the 964’s system in the 1980s. The 997.2 gained what is, essentially, a computerized version of the 959’s setup.
Why?
It is missing the rear spoiler if the front spoiler was originally mounted at the factory. They where mounted together ex factory to keep the balance right at high speed. Great looking 911 👍
Well spotted!
That’s my ride (2010)
A very nice car. I would love to have it.
Great video. The music drowns him out though.
Cool stuff but why do you rest your hand on the shifter when not actively shifting? Bad form bro.
great whip - the original sports car!
I like it !❤
Beautiful, love the interior work you did with the Houndstooth centers, but to be honest and a small critique, whoever did the leather work didn't fit the outer bolster leather correctly as you're getting "pulls". It looks good, but not to someone who's going to want it to look "right".
Beautiful! But I suppose that this is a conversion, because there are only 5 or so built with the steering wheel at the left side.
Correct. It was converted to left hand drive before being shipped to Canada. I read there was only 7 LHD cars made for the European market only. No LHD cars came to North America.
My favorite Porsche of them all. Ever since I first saw one as a kid in 1993.
I love the wheels! Looks like a fun project. Nice work!
i like the rear seat delete, love the blended rear spoiler, the rs door cards, the exhaust sounds nice, very clean car, i would have gone for vinyl over leather.
That's interesting. Why vinyl over leather?
could you get hydraulic brakes in MGB? This thing sounds amazing!
Lovely SC! I used to have an '83 SC.
This introduction sequence is beautifully shot!! As an air-cooled owner and aficionado, this brought me pure joy. Thank you for sharing this!
Can you share the wheel and offset details please?
15 x 7" ET23
The 964 is a modern classic the best looking air cooled out there.
It is amazing to me that when the 964 was first introduced it was not universally loved. Some enthusiast thought Porsche had lost their way. I can not think of a car I find more aesthetically pleasing.
Cant believe they restored a 911, had an issue with "filler in roof" and didnt correct it.The paint will match,if you have it matched!
aboot :)
