    -DESCRIPTION-
This is a short and sweet video showing how to measure a horse, pony, miniature horse, donkey or mule for a halter from Chimacum Tack.
Start by making sure you have a halter that fits fairly well. If you don't have one right now then measure the poll from where you WANT the cheek squares to be on your pony's head. Be sure to measure from one side of the head UP OVER BEHIND THE EARS to the same spot on the other side of the head.
Then you'll measure the nose, all the way around, making sure to keep that tape fairly level and at the height on the animal's head that you will want the nose band to sit. Keep in mind that equine's have nasal bones that get very fine and thin the closer you get to the nostrils. It's very important that the nose band sits well up above the nostrils so that fine bone doesn't get broken if they step on the lead rope or some how get a sharp bump on the nose band of the halter.
I suggest you match the poll measurement and then the nose band. So though Zorro's nose band is smaller than the size 300 halter, I got the adjustable chin so I could adjust that to make it a little smaller. If the poll part of the halter is too small you won't be able to properly fit the halter so that is the one you match first! The size chart can be found on all of our halter products: chimacumtack.c...
Zorro's halter fits his head correctly in this video, as an example.
This halter is the Nylon Halter, Royal Blue in size 300: chimacumtack.c...
